Wendy Williams Warned Diddy’s Ex About His Behavior Years Ago
Wendy Williams was never known for holding back when it came to speaking her mind. Nearly 10 years ago, she brought up Sean “Diddy” Combs’ unsavory behavior, warning his ex about his potential for being abusive. Wendy Williams Warned Diddy’s Ex About His Behavior
A clip from an episode of The Wendy Williams Show has resurfaced since Diddy’s arrest. In the video from 2015, Wendy was talking about one of the many times the rapper broke up with his now ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
At the time, Wendy expressed concern for Cassie’s safety. When they split up, Cassie was apparently trying to avoid running into Diddy after their breakup. However, Wendy said that it would be difficult for her to avoid him because he’s a “mogul.”
“You know, my thing about when you date a mogul, is, that it’s really difficult to avoid them because if you use your head, you never know when they’re going to pop up on the scene,” the talk show host said on the December 14, 2015, episode of The Wendy Williams Show.
She continued, “He’s a mogul! Like, he can hire a plane right now, zoom it to South Africa, land on the roof of the hotel where she’s staying, pay people off at the front desk, ‘Give me the key and let me up in her room.'”
The talk show host said that she is “already paranoid” but dating someone like Diddy would increase her paranoia ten-fold. “To know somebody could actually swoop down on me in the middle of nothing would scare the bejesus out of me! It would, it would,” she said.
In November 2023, Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy for rape and physical abuse. However, the exes settled it out of court one day later. Although Diddy maintained his innocence, a 2016 video surfaced showing Diddy physically abusing Cassie in a hotel.
The couple broke up for good in 2018. They dated on and off for 11 years.
Wendy Blamed Diddy For Getting Her Fired
Wendy Williams and Sean “Diddy” Combs notoriously feuded for years. The former talk show host accused him of having a hand in her firing from her radio show in 1998. In her book, The Wendy Williams Experience, she accused him of single-handedly trying to “ruin her career.”
“The hell he put me through. I will never forget. But I don’t hate him,” she wrote about him. In 2017, the pair seemed cordial when Diddy appeared on her talk show, which Wendy described as a “full circle moment.”
Of course, Wendy Williams has been keeping a low profile since her frontotemporal dementia and aphasia diagnosis was made public. She has not addressed Diddy’s arrest. Here’s a look at his appearance on the show.
For his part, Sean Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges. He will remain behind cars as he awaits trial in New York.
