Aaron Rodgers has an explanation for his viral moment with his Head Coach, Robert Saleh. During New York’s blowout win over the New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium, the Jets’ star quarterback seemed to shove his coach when he went in for a celebratory hug. The moment left many fans wondering if he was beefing with his coach.

Aaron Rodgers Rebukes Robert Saleh’s Hug

The longtime Green Bay Packers QB is enjoying his first real season, helming the Jets’ offense. After the blockbuster trade sent him to New York, Aaron suffered a season-ending Achilles tear on the fourth snap of his Jets career. This season, he appears to be back to his old self, especially following his dominating performance against the Pats.

The sometimes controversial QB found himself at the heart of a media firestorm when a clip of him and his head coach went viral. The Jets QB Offers A Simple Explanation For His Viral Reaction

As Aaron Rodgers was examined by lip readers everywhere, he was asked about the moment while at the podium following their 27-3 win. “He’s not a big hugger usually,” the 40-year-old said.

“So, I didn’t know he was going for the hug. He likes to do the two-hand chest push as well. He talks a lot about two-score leads. So, I just kind of gave him a push and said, ‘Two-score lead.’ That’s what happened,” he added. His coach backed up his version of events, saying Aaron did, in fact, say “two-score lead.”

Aaron Rodgers Sees Good Things To Build On This Season

Aaron has led the Jets to their first 2-1 start since 2015. At the podium after the game, he was asked about more than the moment with his coach. He admitted he sees “good things” ahead for this season.

More so, he is not the only one. His dominating performance, putting up 281 yards with two touchdowns, made the Thursday Night Football team wonder if his old coach, Mike McCarthy, might regret the trade. Aaron and the Jets next take on the Broncos on September 29, followed by the Vikings on October 6, which will take place at London’s Tottenham-Hotspur Stadium.
