Actor Ashton Kutcher has landed in hot water after a video resurfaced discussing his friendship with Sean “Diddy” Combs, in light of the music mogul’s recent sex trafficking charges. The video notably showed him laughing about one of Diddy’s infamous parties. The comments have especially sparked controversy as Kutcher has been known as an advocate against human trafficking.

Kutcher Said He Couldn’t Share Some Stories

Kutcher is arguably best known for playing Michael Kelso in the Fox sitcom That ’70s Show and the film Dude, Where’s My Car?. In addition, he’s also known as the host and creator of the prank series Punk’d. Outside of acting, he’s also known as an investor and a venture capitalist.

Kutcher appeared in a 2019 segment for Hot Ones, in which he was asked about Diddy’s parties. At the time, the host Sean Evans referred to “Diddy parties” as “our favorite genre of anecdote.”

With a smile, Kutcher replied, “I’ve got a lot I can’t tell.” After a pause, Kutcher added, “Can’t tell that one either … I’m cycling through them.”

He also added, “Diddy party stories…weird man.” At this time, however, it’s unclear what events Kutcher attended.

Kutcher Has Been An Advocate Against Child Trafficking

Kutcher also shared a few other stories about Diddy. He especially noted that the mogul refused to appear on Kutcher’s prank show Punk’d.

Claiming that they became “fast friends,” Kutcher also talked about Diddy running the New York City Marathon. Kutcher noted “[Diddy] just can’t lose even when he’s that close to humility.”

However, for some viewers, Kutcher’s comments about the parties take on a different tone in light of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ recent arrest. As previously reported, the charges against Diddy included sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion.

The actor’s comments in the video have especially sparked controversy as Kutcher is known for advocating against human trafficking. He and his ex-wife Demi Moore are known as the co-founders of Thorn: Defend Children from Sexual Abuse. Back in 2011, he and Moore also appeared in a campaign against child sex trafficking.

According to In Touch Weekly, the indictment alleges Diddy had lured women to take part in “Freak Offs” involving sexual activities with female victims. According to the indictment, “To do so, [Diddy] relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled — creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.”

Diddy is currently being held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, where he had been placed on suicide watch. At the time, Diddy’s legal team claimed this was due to the center’s protocol.
