Jeffrey Dean Morgan Hosting New Reality Television Competition
Fans mostly know Jeffrey Dean Morgan from his roles on scripted TV shows. He has starred in everything from Supernatural and The Walking Dead to The Gilmore Girls. However, a new reality competition series is coming, and Morgan signed up to host it.
Here is what you need to know about Morgan’s new reality competition series.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan Signs On To Reality TV Show
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has signed on to host a new reality television competition series. The long-time cult-favorite actor will host a series called Destination X on NBC. This show promises to mix “fantasy with reality.”
The show’s synopsis reads, “Follow contestants as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime but have no idea of their location. To win, they must figure out their mystery locations. Once they’re on the blacked-out Destination X bus, the journey transforms into a real-life game board, with challenges designed to offer clever clues as to their location, along with a few misdirects to keep them guessing.”
According to the rules, the first contestant to get to Destination X will win the game. There are eliminations after each episode when the player who puts the “X” the furthest from the actual location is sent home.
Morgan said, “Destination X captivated me with its blend of travel, mystery, and gaming. I can’t wait to embark on this wild guessing game across the globe as Master of Ceremony.” The show’s description calls Morgan the “puppet master” for the travel adventure series.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan Still Working On Scripted Shows
Destination X won’t be the only show that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will star in during the 2025 television year. Morgan will also be back for the second season of The Walking Dead: Dead City, a spinoff from the original series, where Morgan plays villain turned reluctant hero Negan.
Morgan is back as Negan in Dead City. Maggie (Lauren Cohen) comes to him and demands he help her save her son, who was kidnapped by a New York City group that includes one of Legan’s former allies. However, at the end of the first season, Maggie betrays Negan to save her son, and now he is the group’s captive.
Also, in 2026, Morgan will be back for the final season of The Boys. He plays an imaginary character that Billy Butcher sees. With those two shows, Morgan has his plate full. However, he still has time for this new reality TV show.
