‘Wednesday’ Drops Trailer For ‘Twisted’ Season 2
Netflix’s Wednesday series has just dropped a teaser-trailer for the show’s upcoming second season. In the clip, viewers are treated to clips of the cast and crew working on the show. All the while, a few actors still manage to keep in-character, even as they address the audience.
The Teaser Boasts Things Are About To Get Bigger
The series, which reimagines the classic characters of The Addams Family, already boasts that things are about to get more “twisted” than the fans can imagine.
In a first-look featurette, viewers are welcomed by Luis Guzmán, who plays family patriarch Gomez Addams. He then addresses the audience with “Hello, my little storm cloud,” as if he were talking to Wednesday herself.
Viewers are then treated to a clip of Jenn Ortega filming a scene as Wednesday Addams, brandishing a knife and saying, “Let’s play dolls.”
Many of the familiar characters then announce the show will be entering “Season Two.” Thing even joins in on the fun by showing off two fingers.
Catherine-Zeta Jones, dressed in-character as Morticia Addams, then assures viewers that, “This season is going to be bigger and more twisted than you can ever imagine.” She then proceeds to snap, which has been a staple of The Addams Family since the 1960s television series.
Ortega Has Said She Wants To Play Up The Horror Aspect
Viewers are then treated to a few more clips of the cast and crew working on the series. While the clip clocks in at less than a minute, the final line explains why in a way most befitting of the Addamses.
Ortega, presumably in-character as Wednesday, then assures the fans: “If we showed you anymore, your eyes would bleed. And I’m not that generous.”
As noted by People, many prominent actors are expected to appear in the upcoming season, including Steve Buscemi, Joanna Lumley, Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, Billie Piper, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Frances O’Connor. In particular, Lumley is expected to play Grandamama, Wednesday and Pugsley’s grandmother.
That said, a few actors from the first season aren’t expected to return. This includes Percy Hynes White and Naomi J. Ogawa,, who played Xavier Thorpe and Yoko Tanaka, respectively.
Ortega will also now serve as a producer on the series. While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she previously discussed the direction she wanted the show to take: less romance and more horror. As she explained, “I think we want to up the horror aspect a little bit and then get Wednesday out of the romantic situation, let her be her own individual and fight her own crimes.”
The second season is expected for release sometime in 2025.
