Kate Gosselin Has ‘No Apologies’ For Alleged Child Abuse
Even after Collin Gosselin’s recent interview about the alleged abuse his mother inflicted on him, Kate Gosselin seems nonplussed. While Collin says his mother would zip-tie his hands and feet and lock him in a small, dark room for hours at a time, his mom makes no apologies for her actions.
Here is what Kate’s attorney has said about the abuse allegations and Kate’s reaction to them.
Kate Gosselin Makes No Apologies To Collin
According to Collin Gosselin, his mother, Kate Gosselin, would zip-tie his hands and feet and then lock him in a dark basement room with only a bed for hours at a time. He said the room was kept dark, and a camera was in there watching him the entire time.
Collin said that he began to tell his teachers about what was happening at home, and social services showed up to investigate. He then said Kate Gosselin immediately had him diagnosed with several mental health issues and had him institutionalized when he was 11. She left him there for three years, where he said she rarely came to see him.
Collin finally contacted his dad, who didn’t know where he was placed. Jon Gosselin fought for custody and had Collin released. Since then, Collin graduated from high school with honors and signed up for the Marines. However, Kate wasn’t finished and made a huge public statement, saying Collin was a danger to everyone around him and needed to be locked up again. As a result, the Marines discharged him.
Now, Collin has told all. He even had his medical records released publicly to show that he has none of the mental health conditions that Kate had him tagged with. Shockingly, even with the accusations of zip-ties and isolation for long periods as a child, Kate stands behind her actions as a mother.
Kate Gosselin Says She Did What She Had To
Kate Gosselin’s attorney said that the mother “did what she did to protect herself and her family.” According to the attorney, Kate felt it was important to do what she did to the 11-year-old because she feared him.
An insider then doubled down and said that “Kate makes no apologies for her treatment of Collin” (via In Touch Weekly). They then quipped, “Of course, when Collin tells it, it sounds like a horror story.” The idea of zip-tying an 11-year-old’s hands and feet and locking him in a dark room for hours at a time does sound like a true crime series come to life.
