Janelle Brown Ready To ‘Lawyer Up’ Over Coyote Pass
Sister Wives star, Janelle Brown, is ready to “lawyer up” over the family’s land, Coyote Pass. This had been their dream to build on the land since they moved to Flagstaff, Arizona. Yet, it looks like things are not going according to plan and Janelle is ready to do what she needs to. Keep reading for more details.
Janelle Brown Ready To ‘Lawyer Up’ Over Coyote Pass
The Brown family had to choose between two pieces of land to build their homes. They opted for Coyote Pass where they allegedly heard angels singing. Initially, it was going to be divided up into four lots, one for each wife, and then Kody Brown decided he wanted one. So, they had to divide them up into five lots, which they did. Then, third wife, Christine Brown Woolley opted to leave the plural family in early 2021. So, she sold her piece for $10 so she could keep the profits from her Flagstaff house and start a new life in Utah.
Second wife, Janelle Brown was really dedicated to moving onto Coyote Pass. So much so that she bought an RV and spent a summer out there. Kody refused as he had fourth wife, Robyn Brown’s lavish mansion to live in. Yet, Janelle made the most out of it and even had a mock-up of the tiny home she wanted to build drawn to present to the family. The problem was they still had to pay CP off which was no easy feat. With Season 19 of Sister Wives entering its second episode, the only wife remaining is Robyn. Therefore, Janelle is questioning what will happen to their dream.
According to a preview from Us Weekly, Janelle Brown is speaking to Christine Brown Woolley. They are discussing life and Kody when Coyote Pass comes up. Janelle has this to say:
“If Kody’s not willing to buy me out … I’m going to have to do something with it.
She notes they need to pay it off but she claims Kody is “not talking to me about it.” Janelle then adds:
“I think I’m going to have to lawyer up. That’s the only way I’m ever going to get any kind of decision out of him.”
Looking Elsewhere
At the time of filming, Janelle Brown was contemplating a move to Montana. She and her daughter, Maddie Brown Brush had headed out there and it turned Janelle’s head:
“What changed my mind [about the Arizona land] was when I went with Maddie to look in Montana and I’m like, ‘Oh, I could have this somewhere else.'”
This is a beautiful idea to Christine Brown Woolley but Janelle knows it would be a process to leave Coyote Pass:
“I really have no legal rights to make any kind of claim on Kody’s property. We’re not legally married. It’s not like I’m just calling a lawyer and saying, ‘I need to divorce this person.’ No, it’s really complicated because there’s no legal marriage.”
As aforementioned, this all happened at the end of 2022. Since then, Janelle and Kody’s son, Garrison Brown passed away so she has led somewhat of a nomadic life to find peace. In regards to legal issues, Christine just filed a lawsuit with Kody so Janelle could be next.
Do you think Janelle will get a lawyer or will Kody give her money from the sale of his Flagstaff home and be done with it? Let us know in the comments and watch Sister Wives Sundays on TLC.
