Golden Bachelorette Contestant Gil Ramirez Had Restraining Order Against Him
Golden Bachelorette suitor Gil Ramirez, unfortunately, had some disturbing information surface on Wednesday evening. The initial news broke by an Instagram page and was later also discussed by Reality Steve. Now, People was able to uncover additional information about the restraining order.
A big question everyone has is why production for the show didn’t uncover the restraining order during their intense background checks. According to a source, when ABC ran the background check on Gil it was clean. How could that be?
An insider said that “this filing occurred in the brief period between completion of our thorough background investigation and exhaustive vetting process, and the beginning of production.”
Now that the news is out there, the insider also revealed that since the news surfaced online, production has “further edited his already limited screen time and minimized him in promotional assets moving forward.”
What Were The Details Of The Order?
It was reported that the restraining order that was temporarily issued against Gil Ramirez happened just a few days before filming was set to begin. Gil had reportedly been dating a woman and they parted ways. However, he allegedly would not leave her alone so she filed for a temporary restraining order citing emotional and harassment.
The document said, “Despite telling him to not contact me, come to my house — he made repeated unwanted contact with me, family members and friends.” The woman continued to say there were “25 attempts daily via phone, texts, video. Although lives an hour away — showed up at places I frequent to confront me on a daily basis.”
She also clarified that Ramirez never harmed her physically.
The initial restraining order was issued on June 11. The first court date was postponed due to being unable to reach Gil. The continuation occurred on July 24 when the woman was “sworn and testifie[d].” Documents went on to say “the case is dismissed without prejudice for lack of prosecution for lack of service.” The temporary restraining order was also dropped at that time.
During the premiere, the California resident did receive a rose from Joan Vassos. Reality Steve says Gil will not be on the show for long before Joan realizes she does not see a future with him.
