‘Young & Restless’ Sharon Case Hints At Epic Upcoming Storyline
Sharon Case is getting ready to celebrate her 30th anniversary on Young & Restless. As a thank-you for her time on the soap, the network is putting together an anniversary special. Sharon revealed that the extra episode will have one of the “greatest storylines ever.” Continue reading to see what viewers can expect.
Sharon Case Celebrates 30 Years On Young & Restless
The actress first made her debut on the CBS soap as Sharon Newman in September 1994. Young & Restless producers admittedly had trouble finding the right person for the role. It was originally played by Monica Potter and then Heidi Mark, all in 1994.
Then Sharon Case auditioned for the role and nailed it. The rest, as they say, is history.
Next week, the soap will honor 30 years of Sharon in a stand-alone episode. There will be plenty of flashbacks, but it will also focus on Sharon Newman’s current storyline. Much of Sharon’s story right now centers around her mental health.
In an interview with Soaps.com, Sharon opened up about the upcoming anniversary episode dedicated to her. The Young & Restless star admitted that she’s enamored with the current storyline.
As viewers know, Sharon has been experiencing hallucinations and believing that Cameron (played by Linden Ashby) is there.
“I’m so excited about it. It’s a storyline I’ve always wanted to do, but the timing was never right. I can’t wait for people to see it,” she told the publication.
She added, “Over the years, Sharon’s been involved in some epic storylines, and this is one of them. This will go down as one of her greatest storylines ever!”
Sharon Is The Star Of The Show In Upcoming Standalone Episode
That said, she wasn’t willing to give away any specific details. But she did inform fans that things won’t end after her special episode. The storyline with Sharon will continue for many weeks to come.
This means that Sharon’s storyline and all the drama around it will likely stay at the forefront leading into November sweeps.
As fans may remember, Joshua Morrow, who plays Nick Newman on the soap, celebrated his 30th anniversary on the show this summer. His episode was really a standalone, but Sharon’s will focus on the current storyline mainly.
Sharon really is the star of the episode though. “This one is pretty much just Sharon. I saw the script and realized, ‘I’m on every page!’” she exclaimed. “It was almost a little scary.”
Although carrying the episode was a challenge, Sharon Case expressed how thankful she is to be involved in Young & Restless for 30 years. However, things are about to get a little topsy-turvy for Sharon on the daytime drama series soon.
The Young and the Restless airs on weekdays on CBS.
