Tori Spelling Reveals True Feelings About ‘90210’ Reboot
Tori Spelling recently opened up about the 90210 Reboot that debuted in 2019. Along with many of her Beverly Hills, 90210 costars, Tori made a comeback to the small screen. However, many of the other people on the show had regrets when it came to reprising their roles. What did Tori have to say about the experience? Keep reading to find out.
Tori Spelling Has No Regrets
Many people are currently watching Tori Spelling compete in Dancing With The Stars this season, but fans know her from the original Beverly Hills, 90210. She acted alongside Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Luke Perry, and Jason Priestly, among others.
In the 2000s, the CW premiered a 90210 reboot. Many of Tori’s former castmates returned to reprise their roles, but some of them had regrets. Tori Spelling made it clear she didn’t feel that way at all.
“The storylines and who the characters are, I feel like the fans have expressed they wished it would’ve gone different ways,” Tori told E! News. “Those characters are so personal to us. I definitely enjoyed my experience.”
The 90210 alum expressed that it was important for fans to view the 2008 reboot as an entirely new show with new characters.
“It was a different cast even though we were in it as well once in a while, and Jennie was in it more,” she said. “But you had to fall in love with that cast as a separate show and not compare it to 90210, the first incarnation.”
Jennie Garth & Gabrielle Carteris Talk 90210 Reboot
Jennie Garth has recently opened up about reprising her role as Kelly Taylor in the reboot. She appeared in 20 episodes of the show and, at this point, she says she wishes she hadn’t done it.
“No offense to them,” Jennie said at a 90s Con earlier this month. “The producer was a friend of a friend, and I remember he came over in my living room, sat me down, [billed it as] this chance of a lifetime.”
“I didn’t know how to say no then,” she continued. “But the people were very nice and all the best to them.”
Gabrielle Carteris had some regrets as well. She reprised her role as Andrea Zuckerman but left after season five. In the end, she didn’t think bringing Beverly Hill, 90210 back was necessary.
“I never wanted to [do it],” Gabrielle said during the same panel with Jennie. “I was so shocked they were doing a new show. I was like, is it like, they long so much you’re just going to try to reinvent it over and over?”
That said, the original cast didn’t have the same negative feelings toward the 2019 revival of the 90s show. This version focused on the younger cast members like Shenae Grimes and AnnaLynne McCord.
“It felt full circle, to be together as adults, having had our children, being able to work together,” Gabrielle stated. “I thought it was probably one of those most impactful moments of my life.”
