Fans always accuse reality competition shows of rigging the votes. This always happens when a person’s favorite loses, but even if they win, someone else will claim the same thing because their favorite lost. However, there is a new grumbling on The Voice that the shows are scripting moments to push voters to certain contestants.

Here is what fans think the production team is doing to “rig” the votes.

Fans Accuse The Voice Of Scripting Drama Moments

There is almost no chance that The Voice “rigs” the votes by not giving the prize to the singer fans vote for. This is illegal, and singing reality shows could face numerous lawsuits if it happens. However, there are now people accusing the show of scripting dramatic moments as a way to lead people to vote how they want them to.

Some moments seem scripted and have nothing to do with voting on singers. These are moments where the coaches are delivering playful banter with each other. Some fans doubt that the coaches come up with these comments and that the producers are telling the coaches to overdo their reactions to each other and the singers.

The Voice has to be on the up and up when it comes to counting realistic fan votes because of the money awarded to the winner. However, there is also the cast that all the contestants get paid something, so they can be considered “cast members.” All competitors get something for their time. The singers who get past Blind Auditions also get paid and receive money per episode they appear in.

However, the winner gets $100,000 and a recording contract. This is who the fans vote for in the end.

How Could The Voice Rig The Voting?

The Blind Auditions are honest. The coaches don’t turn around and don’t see the singers. As far as anyone knows, they also don’t get to see the singers before the show starts. This means if the singers rehearse, the coaches are not there for it.

However, there is a chance that the coaches’ overreactions are done with a purpose. First, the coaches want to elicit a reaction from the fans, both in attendance and at home. They also want to convince people to vote for their singers in the later rounds.

However, as with shows like American Idol, the series edits together packages and behind-the-scenes footage and then offers up the coaches’ reactions to the performances. Some fans feel these are scripted to lead them to vote for one singer over another. There were even accusations recently against America’s Got Talent that said that the audience is told when to cheer and when to boo.

Do you think The Voice rigs the voting by the way they edit the show together? Do you think the dramatic moments are mostly faked? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
