‘The Young & The Restless’ Fans Fear Daniel’s Departure

Thanks to recent developments, fans of The Young and the Restless suspect Daniel might be leaving the show. There has already been talk of the character, who has been played by Michael Graziadei since 2004, leaving Genoa City in the series itself. However, fan-rumors are split on just what will happen to the character.

Recent Developments Might Spur Daniel Into Leaving

Daniel Romalotti first appeared on The Young and the Restless in 1994. Initially presented as the son of Danny Romalotti and Phyllis Summers, a later storyline revealed his father to be Brian Hamilton.

Early on, the character was played by child actors. His most recent actor has been Michael Graziadei, who had been playing the character since 2004.

Due to ongoing storylines, there are a few reasons why fans would think Daniel might be leaving the show.

In a recent story, Daniel had a conversation with Sharon, who had been going through a downward spiral. When he noted her actions nearly drove him and Heather to move away, Sharon suggested that wasn’t a bad idea.

Cameron also talked to Sharon, suggesting she was delaying what she needed to do with Daniel. After Daniel receiving a text from Heather concerning his daughter Lucy he left. This in turn caused Cameron to point out that Daniel might be leaving town.

Fans Aren’t Sure Just What Leaving Could Entail

As some fans speculate, Daniel may also want to leave Genoa City to help give Lucy a more stable life. Similarly, in recent episodes, Daniel has been having issues with finding a secure and stable job, with his last interviews going poorly.

While Daniel has previously shown interest in staying in town, Heather has also notably considered moving away. With their future in the balance, Daniel might follow her.

However, that’s not the only fan rumor concerning Daniel’s fate on the show. As Monsters & Critics noted, while Sharon claims to want to make her peace with Daniel, some fans fear she may end up killing him. That said, having the character simply leave might be the more likely option that having the writers outright kill him off.

Some fans even speculate that Graziadei’s contract might even be up soon, necessitating the character’s departure.. At this time, however, Graziadei has not commented on his character’s fate on the show. Similar comments also haven’t been made by other cast and crew of The Young and the Restless, either.

In the end, only time will tell what will happen to the character as the show goes on.
