‘Sister Wives’ Fans Slam Season 19 Premiere, Why?
Sister Wives fans are slamming the Season 19 premiere but what were their biggest issues with it? There had been many questions as to when the new season would begin. Furthermore, would it even return after Kody Brown and Janelle Brown’s son, Garrison Brown passed away in March 2024? So, what were the problems that viewers had with the premiere? Keep reading for more details.
Sister Wives Fans Slam Season 19 Premiere, Why?
The opening of the Season 19 Sister Wives premiere was very ominous. A message flashed across the screen that read this:
“This season of Sister Wives began filming in late 2022. On March 5, 2024, Kody and Janelle’s son Garrison passed away. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.”
It sent chills down the spines of viewers who have watched the hit TLC reality series from the beginning. Should the show have still gone on after that? Or, should it have done a quick closure episode and called it a day? Ultimately, the season was going to go on and it was all about Coyote Pass, Mykelti Brown Padron’s sprinkle, and a disconnected family. Essentially, it was the same storyline just Season 19. Kody Brown addressed how hard he was hit now that three wives were gone.
He and Robyn Brown were also trying to figure out what to do with their vacant property, Coyote Pass. Then, they had to attend Mykelti’s sprinkle and Christine Brown Woolley was nervous about coming face-to-face with Robyn and Kody. Meri Brown shared that things were done between her and Kody while Janelle Brown noted how her daughter, Maddie Brown Brush was done with her dad. Despite it being a new episode, fans did not care for it at all. It felt repetitive, redundant, and boring as they shared in a Reddit thread:
- They somehow managed to make it feel manufactured for ‘drama’ while also being a snoozefest.
- Full of confessionals about everything we are already aware of. Kody taking zero accountability and blaming everyone else or refusing to answer questions and Robyn being fake as usual.
- They repeat too much to keep it interesting anyway.

Is It Because Of Garrison?
One Sister Wives fan struggled after seeing the opening where Garrison Brown’s death was acknowledged. It is also hard when fans already know what has happened as the show has always been a year or more behind. This season, Christine Brown Woolley will go on her first date with David Woolley. However, fans have already watched their wedding special. In the premiere, Mykelti Brown Padron and Maddie Brown Brush were both pregnant. Their babies have made their appearances already and fans have celebrated.
Another Reddit thread felt the show lacked content so they just threw a bunch of scenes together. Additionally, some called it a boring, repeat episode:
- I’m lost. Did they just not have content??
- I cannot believe this was all they had to show us after all this time. It was like watching a re-run.
- I was surprised how boring the episode was too.
- Production recycled 50% from last season’s couch interviews. So dumb and so boring
So, it looks like there may need to be some quick editing going on to keep viewers around for the rest of the season. What were your thoughts on the Season 19 premiere? Good or lacking content? Let us know and watch Sister Wives Sunday on TLC and streaming on MAX.
