Since Guy is an emergency room doctor currently practicing in Reno, Nevada, fans think the 61-year-old bachelorette will swoon over him. However, some fans discovered that Guy Gansert has a famous ex-wife. In Nevada, Heidi Gansert is a Republican Senator who has been serving in the position since 2016. Both Guy and Heidi are described as “warm and engaging” people.
Seemingly, she is a strong woman with a background in civil engineering. After receiving her degree in engineering, she chose to pursue her MBA and created a successful medical group consulting business. But her passion for community and people took her to the path of politics. However, she announced in 2023 that she would not be running for reelection. Instead, she is retiring to spend more time with their children. Although Guy and Heidi’s relationship isn’t publically defined, they were married for over 30 years and are forever connected by their children. Undoubtedly, if Guy is Joan Vassos‘ man in the end, they will have many logistics to sort through to blend their families. Hopefully, that will go better for them than it did for Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist.

When Guy Gansert discusses getting into the swing of dating The Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos, he says, “Let’s just say it’s a whole lot different than when I was in college.” But his bio describes his commitment to people revealing he “dedicated nearly 40 years to helping others as a doctor, and he is excited about the opportunity to meet someone to share the rest of his life with.” Furthermore, the description says he is “charismatic, confident, and romantic.” Even more so, he seeks a woman like Joan who is “intelligent and funny.” Additionally, Guy wants to fit as much life into his years as possible.
His bio says, “Guy does NOT fit the ‘grumpy old man’ stereotype and knows he has a lot of life left to live.” Likewise, he wants to treat a lady well, “He is a big believer in chivalry and wants to make Joan feel extra special.” Much like Joan, he wants to show how age is a number but it doesn’t need to define a person.
