Patrick Mahomes‘ mother, Randi Mahomes, reached out to fans for prayers ahead of the weekend. It had nothing to do with her son’s NFL game, but with his grandfather. She shared some sad news on social media. Here is what she revealed.

Randi Mahomes Still Coping With The Loss Of Her Mother

It is no secret that Patrick Mahomes’ mom has also placed a strong emphasis on the importance of family. Now, Patrick has started doing that with his own family with his wife Brittany Mahomes.

Randi has always been close with her father, who helped shape her life and significantly impacted the path she wanted for her own kids, Patrick included.

Over the last year, the Mahomes family has experienced some heavy losses. Randi’s mother, Debbie Bates, passed away. Ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl, she paid tribute to her late mother. Patrick’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, were up against the San Francisco 49ers.

She shared several photos of her mom and paid tribute to her in the caption. Randi wrote, ““Momma i know you are cheering today from Heaven. I miss you every single day.. i can hear you yelling ‘Go Patrick.’”

Looking back at all of the photos, there is no doubt that family is important to the Mahomes clan.

As she is still coping with that loss, Patrick Mahomes’ mother took to to share some concerning news with fans.

“Prayer warriors please pray for my daddy. He is in the hospital and is not well… his name is Randy,” she wrote on the social media platform. Fans rushed to the comments with their well wishes.

“I will definitely pray for your Dad and for you. I’m so sorry he’s not doing well,” one follower commented. “Prayers for you and yours!” another chimed in. A third wrote, “Lifting Randy up in prayer!!”

Although she has faced challenges over the last year after losing her mom, Randi does what she can to keep the family unit close together. She’s frequently spotted at Chiefs games cheering her son on from the stands.

There is no doubt Patrick Mahomes is busy, especially during the NFL season. A lot of pressure comes along with being the NFL’s Most Valuable Player. However, Randi said that she’s always been proud of how her son has put his family first.

Earlier this year, Randi Mahomes said that Patrick has been able to keep his personal priorities in the foreground when considering his career in the NFL.

She said, “I hear him say things like, ‘If the game takes me away from my kids, I might not play as long as Tom Brady,’ and I’m so proud of him for that.”
