Did Micah Plath Shame Olivia For Something He’s Done?
During Welcome To Plathville‘s recent episode, Micah Plath opens up about his relationship with Veronica Peters. Micah points out some things he appreciates about his girlfriend, but in so he seemingly disses Olivia Plath. But did he blatantly shame Olivia for something he did in the past?
Micah Plath Verbally Backhands Olivia
In the latest episode of Welcome To Plathville, Micah Plath and Veronica Peters show fans a little more about their relationship. While the two bicker about who “forgets” air mattresses and where clothes are hung, they also discuss what they like about each other in confessional interviews. Seemingly, Veronica is accepting Micah’s unusual growing up. Likewise, Micah is completely fine with one of Veronica’s insecurities of being taller than him.
Even though they frequently have banter back and forth, Micah explains how important it is to him that Veronica gets along with her “current family.” While complimenting Veronica, Micah seems to backhand Olivia for her distance from her family. Micah compares how Olivia didn’t get along with his family as well as her own. Contrarily, he emphasizes how much he likes that Veronica will “give anything in the world” for her family. Additionally, she says she already sees the Plaths as her extended family.
Did Micah Plath Shame Olivia For Something He’s Done?
On Reddit, fans point out that Micah Plath’s comment about Olivia Plath seems very judgemental. First, a user says, “Did Micah Plath really just shame Olivia indirectly for not being close to her family??” Then, they add, “Did he really imply that Olivia being estranged from her family was a red flag and makes her not worthy of a relationship? …cuz I’m pretty sure that’s what I heard. He was talking about his girlfriend and saying that he loved how close she was to her family and that she was such a family person. That was one of the reasons he committed to her. He was comparing his relationship to Ethan and Olivia’s, and basically implying that her situation with her family was somehow a red flag.”
Micah Plath Ironically Judges Olivia
Furthermore, it seems like the pot is calling the kettle black in Micah Plath’s assertion of Olivia Plath and her family. The Reddit user continues, “Correct me if I’m wrong but this is what I got from it, and it really bothered me. (ESPECIALLY coming from him!!!) Wasn’t Olivia abandoned by her family for not being a fundie extremist anymore?”
However, the user points out that Micah Plath turned away from his family’s beliefs. Furthermore, it was in a similar way to how Olivia Plath disregarded her family’s teachings. Saying, “Um…Micah, if they were your parents they probably wouldn’t want you to be on the same planet as them. You’ve basically admitted to sleeping around casually (no judgement btw) and literally doing whatever TF u want. And meanwhile, Olivia’s biggest sins as a married woman was what? A nose ring and a pair of pants? Wtf? Everyone has their faults but to blame her for her extremist parents shunning her is not only extremely misguided, but also insanely cruel.”

Although Welcome To Plathville star, Micah Plath left Barry and Kim Plath‘s house and rules as a teenager to find his way, he reconciled with them later on. However, he seems to blatantly pass judgment on Olivia Plath for not being close to her family by complimenting Veronica. Other fans weigh in:

- “I have to wonder if Micah, Moriah, and even Ethan would still be shunned from the family if it weren’t for the cameras and comments in Kim and Barry’s faces. I mean, at this point they really need the money from the show. I feel like they both decided to ‘soften up’ on the kids as more of a business decision. The bonus was making Olivia look like the stubborn, controlling one (when she was literally just trying to mentally survive.)”

Micah has no real job skills other than modeling. Ethan is mechanical skills, Olivia makes a good living as a skilled photographer. Moriah, is she making any money as a singer? Issac could have a future in aviation. All these “kids” had their education stunted. Supposedly now the oldest daughter at home is homeschooling the younger ones. Given that the older ones are lacking, if the younger are being taught the same way, lord help them.
Olivia had her faults but she would never be able to overcome the damage done to Ethan. Even now Kim refuses to take any blame and still says it’s all Olivia’s fault. I’m wondering why they glossed over Kim’s drunk driving charges.
