While the cast filmed Beverly Hills, 90210, a few romances blossomed between the actors. Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green were an item in the early days then she went on to date Vincent Young, who played Noah Hunter. Aside from Tori, Brian had been dating Tiffani-Amber Thiessen before she joined as Valerie Malone. That lasted for a short time as co-stars then fizzled but then found love with Vanessa Marcil who played Gina Kincaid. They had a son and became engaged but that also ended.
Jason Priestley was involved with Christine Elise who played Emily Valentine and surely, there was more behind the scenes. Shannen Doherty, who passed in the summer of 2024 from a long bout with cancer, had dated bad boys. She was married to Ashley Hamilton and Rick Salomon. However, it seems she had a soft spot for her co-star Brian, who played sweet high school DJ, David Silver. According to Us Weekly, the subject of their dating came up. He was at 90s Con Florida with an array of fan favorites. There, he participated in a live taping of the podcast, House of Halliwell, dedicated to the TV show, Charmed.

Holly Marie Combs, who was Shannen’s Charmed co-star, was the one who spilled the tea about how Shannen and Brian Austin Green were an item:
“She waited quite a while to tell me that. She was very honest [and] I think that’s the trait I take from her.”
Brian was not about to divulge any details regarding the situation but Holly was not about to back down, noting how she loved that he and Shannen stayed very close after their breakup. He shared he was getting him bum “handed to him.” Holly added:
“[Shannen] did say you have a really nice a**.”
Apparently, the truth came out on Tori Spelling’s podcast back in April and she was quite candid.
The Real Tea
According to Shannen Doherty, this is what went down between her and Brian Austin Green:
“Maybe I was doing Charmed? I don’t know, it was so much later [than Beverly Hills, 90210]. We tried something, and we just went, ‘Yeah this isn’t going to work.’ The kissing didn’t even make sense.”
Shannen shared how it was just too awkward between the two of them:
“I can’t imagine it now, either. That’s why it didn’t go anywhere because it was awkward. It was super awkward. … There were no fireworks. We were so close, and we had known each other [when] we were little kids essentially.”
Though things did not work out between the two of them, Brian holds his late co-star in the highest regard:
“I knew she had the biggest heart of anybody I knew. She never intentionally set out to hurt anyone she just believed in what it is she believed and she was honest about it.”
