The Lawrence Brothers Tease Upcoming New Show

The Lawrence brothers have teased plans to release a new series together. The three brothers, Joey, Matthew, and Andy, have worked together in a variety of projects together. During the announcement, they also shared a few stories of working together.

The New Series Is Expected To Come Out Next Year

Joey spoke with US Weekly at ‘90s Con on September 13, where he even shared the series’ title. As he unveiled, “It’s called The Lawrence of Brothers Show, and our crew’s here today.”

The eldest Lawrence brother revealed the project will come out soon. As he said, “We’re doing it and we have an amazing team, and it’ll be out next year and we’re really excited about it.”

He added that, “It’s fun, funny and very irreverent. We’re excited about that.”

During the event, the brothers also shared a few behind-the-scenes stories from working on the sitcom Brotherly Love. together. In one episode, “Once Around the Block,” Joey’s character works on a car resembling the Batmobile. Joey noted that he was able to take his brothers for a ride while dressed like Batman and Robin.

As Joey noted, “It was incredible. I would actually, like, go out and sit in the Bat Car and I’m a huge Batman fan.” Andy added that they were even allowed to use the car for “a week or two.”

The Brothers Have Worked On Quite A Few Projects Together

The three brothers have worked together in a variety of projects over the years. Joey notably played the role of foster-kid Joey Donovan on Gimme a Break!, which later saw him join up with his real-life brother Matthew, who played the character’s long-lost brother.

Joey, Matthew, and Andy would later appear in the 1990s sitcom, Brotherly Love. In this series, Joey plays Joseph “Joe” Roman, who returns to the family business after his father dies in a racing accident. Interestingly, Matthew and Andy played “Joe’s” half-brothers on the show. Behind the scenes, their parents also served as co-producers on the show.

Joey and Andy would also notably play cousins in the Disney Channel movie, Horse Sense, which later saw them joined up with Matthew in the sequel, Jumping Ship.

Of course, the three also have a few more individual projects under their belt. Fans may also recognize Joey from his roles in Blossom and Melissa and Joey, Matthew from his work on Boy Meets World, and Andy as the voice of T.J. Detweiler in Recess.

In 2023, the three would launch a podcast together, Brotherly Love Podcast, likely named in honor of their earlier television series.
