‘Teen Mom’ Jace Tells Jenelle He Feels Safer Without David Around
Jenelle Evans sat down with her oldest son, Jace, for a heart-to-heart conversation in the Season 2 finale of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. Fans saw the conversation play out on television and Jace opened up about his feelings about Jenelle’s ex David Eason. Continue reading to see what Jenelle’s son had to say about her finally leaving the toxic relationship.
Jace Admits To Jenelle He Didn’t Feel Safe With David
There is no secret that Jace Evans didn’t have a good bond with David Eason, and the 15-year-old isn’t holding back from telling his mom as much. During the Season finale of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Jenelle and Jace sat down for an honest chat.
The conversation started with Jenelle thanking Jace for his help with her other children. In their chat, she acknowledges that she hasn’t always been able to give him the life he deserved.
Jace admitted to his mom that he felt unsafe with David Eason around. Then, the Teen Mom star asks her son, “So, how are you feeling here?” He admitted, “I feel, um, a lot safer without David.”
Jenelle said that she had regrets about not leaving David sooner. “But I was trying,” she told her son. “He’s gone now, like, I’m fine,” Jace responded.
As Teen Mom fans know, Jace accused David Eason of assaulting him while they lived in the same house. Last fall, Jace was removed from Jenelle’s home after an altercation between her ex and her son.
Yet again, CPS got involved in Jace’s life. During their conversation, Jenelle Evans recalls a time when Jace begged her for the drama in their lives to stop. He said that CPS had been involved in his life for as long as he could remember and he was sick of them coming in and out of their home.
Teen Mom Fans See Things Come Full Circle
Jenelle Evans welcomed her first child, Jace, in 2009. She was only 17 years old at the time. When he was still a baby, Jenelle made the decision to sign over temporary custody to her mom, Barbara Evans. Babs raised him for most of his life. His father, Andrew Lewis, has been largely out of the picture.
Teen Mom fans saw Jenelle spiral out of control, partying rather than spending time with her child. She frequently butted heads with her mom on the show.
Now, Jenelle Evans has been able to admit that she didn’t give him a great childhood. Then, she asked him if he felt any anger or resentment toward her.
“Mmmm… At the time, I did, but now that we’re out of all this, like, crazy drama, it’s just calm; everything is good now,” Jace told his mother. She continued, saying, “Like, you know I’ve made tons of mistakes all my life, but I just want you to realize my intentions were never bad.”
She assured her son that she always tried to fight for him. “I just feel like you were robbed from me as a baby, you know? And I don’t think it was fair,” Jenelle told Jace. The mother and son shared a hug, telling each other, “I love you.”
