Julie Chen Moonves is coming back to The Talk for the first time since 2018. The Big Brother host was also noticeably missing from the live eviction on Thursday night’s episode. Has she ditched the reality show for her old daytime talk show seat? Here is what has been revealed.

Julie Chen Moonves Returns To The Talk

Big Brother fans can breathe easy. Julie Chen Moonves isn’t going anywhere for now. She simply called into The Talk to advise Jerry O’Connell on hosting BB.

This was the first time Julie was missing from a live taping of the reality show. She was diagnosed with COVID earlier in the week and was still testing positive, so she wasn’t able to be there in person.

“Jerry, thank you for stepping in, you’re going to do an amazing job,” she said to Jerry via telephone on Thursday. The Talk co-host said that the houseguests would likely be “super bummed” that Julie Chen Moonves wasn’t there.

“No, no, it’s going to be so exciting because tonight’s evictee is member number one of the jury,” she said. Then she went on to give Jerry O’Connell a “very important tip” for his hosting duties on Big Brother.

Julie’s Tip For Jerry O’Connell

“Sheryl [Underwood] help him out because you know Sheryl, you and I worked for eight years,” she joked. “When you go into my dressing room, go into the bathroom, on the second drawer to the left, there is a corset. I’m telling you Jerry, there is no way you’re going to fit into my dress tonight.”

The Big Brother host continued, stating that getting into the corset for the dress was “a two-person job.” Then she joked, “Don’t let those ladies fool you. They are strong. You better hold on to a grab bar.”

After sharing her humorous tip with Jerry, Julie Chen Moonves thanked everyone on The Talk. She took the time to acknowledge everyone on the panel, which includes Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, and Sheryl Underwood.

Julie revealed that she tested positive for COVID in a statement on Instagram. She confirmed that she would be sitting out of the live eviction episode for Week 8.

“Friday morning I woke up with a sore throat and went to see my good friend who is an ENT. That night he called to say I have Covid,” she wrote. “Thankfully this is only the second time for me and it’s been very mild! No fever and just a sore throat.”

On Thursday, September 12, in the Big Brother episode, viewers saw Quinn Martin evicted from the house on a 4 to 2 vote. “You guys are so lame,” Quinn told the other houseguests when he found out he was being eliminated.

Not having Julie Chen Moonves there probably made the eviction sting a little bit more.
