‘Y&R’ Melissa Claire Egan Shares Pic Of New Baby, Family Of 5
The Young and the Restless family just got a little bigger. Melissa Claire Egan, who plays Chelsea on the beloved soap opera, has welcomed a new baby into the world. Melissa Claire Egan Introduces Fans To Her New Addition
Melissa Claire Egan thinks she might be “insane,” but she adopted a rescue puppy. The CBS soap actress took to Instagram to introduce the little fur baby to her followers earlier this week.
In the photo, a cute white dog could be shown smiling at the camera. Melissa wrote in the caption, “Meet Bailey Katrosar! We are insane for rescuing a puppy while having a baby and a toddler, but we love her and here we are!”
The Young and the Restless star went on the thank everyone at the pet rescue center for their help. Then, she revealed they adopted Bailey over the summer.
She admitted that life was “hectic” and that the family was still mourning their late pup Sophia, who passed away in February. The family didn’t think they were ready for another dog, but she exclaimed, “When are you ever ready?!”
Over the summer, she visited Wagmor Pets to see a pup that was in need of their forever home. She wound up taking Bailey home.
“We weren’t looking for a Sophia clone, but by the time we got there he had been adopted,” Melissa Claire Egan wrote in the caption. “Then this sweet girl came up to us when we went into the room of pups. She looked so much like Soph and we felt she sent her to us. Welcome to the family, Bailey!”
The Young And The Restless Fans Share Well Wishes For Melissa
Y&R fans rushed to the comments to congratulate Melissa on the new addition to her family. “Congrats!! Bailey is so cute!!” one person commented. Another wrote, “Let the rescuing and healing of your hearts begin.”

A third person commented, “She’s is absolutely adorable -may you have many years of joy and fun.” And a fourth cheered Melissa on, “Rescue dogs are the best, most loyal buddies.”
Melissa’s costar Tracey E. Bregman, who plays Lauren on the soap, chimed in. “Congrats! Sophia def sent her. So sweet,” she wrote.
While she hasn’t shared any more photos of Bailey yet, fans are eager to see Melissa Claire Egan bond with the sweet pup. They are undoubtedly looking forward to seeing photos of Bailey with her husband Matt Katrosar and their sons, Caden and Jake.
