Cory Wharton Goes Under The Knife

Cory explained that a few days ago, he had the first of two surgeries required to fix his knee.

As the surgeons originally planned to remove the metal plate and screws because it was in the way of where they needed to place the ACL. While working on his knee, doctors discovered his meniscus was also “torn to pieces.”

The discovery turned the procedure into a six-hour ordeal. Cory explained that he kept thinking of his daughter, Maya, and how scared she must have been during her three open-heart surgeries.

Cory, who can currently be seen competing on The Challenge: Battle of the Eras, told his fans that he would be “ok,” but he has a long road to a full recovery.

His Challenge co-stars took to the comment section to express their support.

“You will be BETTER THAN EVER soon,” wrote The Challenge Godfather Mark Long.

A couple of GOATs also chimed in.

“You’ll be back in no time brotha, happy healing,” commented Johnny Bananas.

“Lunch, Lady Cory,” quipped CT Tamburello about Cory’s headgear.

Cory’s News Comes Amid His Controversial Comments About The Challenge

Weeks before he opened up about his surgery, Cory’s comments about his time on the show had him making news.

During an interview to promote Season 40 of The Challenge, Cory asserted, “he is the best to have never won.”

Adding, “Everyone’s waiting for me to get that win, everyone wants me to get that win.”

He backtracked a bit, adding his castmates, Leroy Garrett and Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat, as the other two he’d place as the top men on the show without a win.

Cory is considered one of the strongest men to compete on the show. But, his assertions of being “the best” are not exactly backed up by his record.
