Wheel Of Fortune Ryan Seacrest Launches Premiere With Epic Prizes
It was a big deal when Ryan Seacrest was named the new host of Wheel of Fortune. This was a title that Pat Sajak held for over forty years but now, he was passing the torch. Of course, diehard fans were unsure of how the transition would go or if Ryan was right for the job. He did some promos with Vanna White to garner excitement leading up to the premiere. Ryan even got the stamp of approval from fellow game show, Jeopardy! Now, he has made his debut on Monday, September 9th, and brought with him some big promises.
He shared that, to celebrate his first week on the job, they were going to have some amazing prizes. In the first episode, one contestant won tickets to any NFL game of their choice. Another won two trips; one to Italy and another to Mexico so it was a pretty exciting start. According to Us Weekly, there is so much more to come for his premiere week so players need to get ready. In August, Ryan shared this:
“We’ll have some special surprises and maybe some souped up cash giveaways for the premiere week. Wheel of Fortune will be Wheel of Fortune.”
As for other changes, not much is happening other than Vanna White got a new carpet and they did get a modernized set. However, Vanna does not think it is all that noticeable as there is so much that will feel familiar:
“We do have a new set, but it’s just an updated set. You’re not going to feel like it’s a new show at all. You know, the puzzle board is still there, the wheel is still there. It’s gonna be a nice little remodel.”
As for Ryan, he joked at how heavy the wheel was, something he did not anticipate. He did feel like a fool when he tried to spin it and did not make it all that far.

Thoughts On The New Set & Ryan
After the premiere of Ryan Seacrest’s Wheel of Fortune, what did viewers have to say about him and the new set? Were they impressed or did they miss the Pat Sajak days?
- He did great! But that set is dizzying and distracting and just awful.
- The set is a migraine waiting to happen. I honestly had to stop looking because it hurt my eyes too much. Did you run that set by anyone??? Wheel is now inaccessible.
- Mr. Seacrest, you did a wonderful job at your first time being the host on wheel of fortune. Keep it going
So, the set was a no-go but Ryan was well-received so that may be the only alteration. Hopefully, he can keep the momentum going for years to come.
