‘General Hospital’: Rick Hearst Reveals Second Job In New Jersey
Actor Rick Hearst is arguably best known for his work in soap operas, like General Hospital. However, the actor revealed he has a second job in New Jersey. Sharing this on social media, Hearst showed his appreciation of the state.
Hearst Had Made A Home In The Garden State
In a post shared on Instagram, Hearts revealed that he is a real estate agent in the Garden State. In the video, Hearst talked about being on break from the show. He noted that he lived in New Jersey but was going to return to the show in a few days. For the time being, however, he “just kind of wanted to show folks what [New Jersey] looks like.”
Not only does Hearst enjoy living in the states, he’s made a second career for himself helping others find homes in New Jersey. As he explained in the post:
“There’s different parts of New Jersey. The part that I live in, South Central New Jersey, is a beautiful place. I also happen to be a real estate agent here. I love helping people find homes here, sell their homes here. It’s really a great lifestyle out here.”
Born Richard Charles Herbst, Hearst is an East Coast native having been born in Howard Beach in Queens, New York, although he was also raised in Dallas, Texas.
Towards the end of the post, Hearst even snuck in a plug for his business:
“So if you happen to be looking to come to New Jersey, give me a shout. I can find you a place. Or if you are in New Jersey and would like to get an estimate on your home, see what the options are available to you, and would love to be able to work with you as well.”
Hearst Has Appeared In Quite A Few Soaps
The actor has made a name for himself appearing in a variety of soap operas, even before General Hospital. His resume includes playing Scott “Scotty” Banning II on Days of Our Lives, Alan-Michael Spaulding on Guiding Light, Matt Clark on The Young and the Restless, and Whipple “Whip” Jones III on The Bold and the Beautiful. In fact, by 2012, Hearst had the distinction of being the sole living actor to appear on the four surviving soaps.
Starting in 2002, Hearst took on the role of Ric Lansing on General Hospital. After a hiatus in 2009, he returned to the series in 2014. In 2004 and 2007, he won the Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” thanks to his work on the series.
According to Yahoo News, Hearst previously talked about his more recent return to the series on Instagram:
“Very excited to announce my return to General Hospital in the role of Ric Lansing. Stay tuned. You never know what you’re gonna get with this guy.”
