American Pickers Renewed For 3 Years Amid Declining Ratings

Although recent seasons have seen changes in ratings, American Pickers was recently renewed for several more seasons. In May, it was reported that the History Channel show was renewed for three more years.

However, fans have still been waiting to hear about when new episodes would hit the small screen. Mike Wolfe, Robbie Wolfe, Danielle Colby, and “Jersey Jon” Szalay will all be returning for Season 26.

A source told The U.S. Sun, “They are filming, they just got back from Louisiana. They’re filming for Season 26 and they have signed on for three more years.”

This is a pleasant surprise for American Pickers fans, many of who were concerned about the show’s future after the inconsistent ratings last season. Throughout Season 25, the History Channel show brought in less than one million viewers. Its Valentine’s Day episode brought in a sad 774,000 viewers and, at its peak, it only raked in 948,000 viewers for an episode that aired on January 24.

Mike Wolfe Appreciates Pickers Crew For Sticking By Him

American Pickers has been on television for fourteen years. It made its debut in January 2010. Many people were disappointed after the show decided to get rid of Frank Fritz, one of the original cast members.

Frank was officially let go in 2021, with his last appearance on the show being in 2020. The Pickers star said that he distanced himself from Mike Wolfe, the show’s creator, after he had back surgery, revealing that Mike wasn’t there for him.

Last month, Mike’s brother Robbie Wolfe leaked the Season 26 premiere date in a post on Instagram. The photo showed him and the film crew sitting on a porch of a cabin. In the caption, he revealed that they were filming a new season of American Pickers. He continued, announcing that new episodes would premiere on the History Channel on October 15.

Fans were ecstatic to hear the news. One person commented, “Can’t wait,” while another wrote, “Woo hoo!!”

This is far from the only announcement that has been made about the History Channel show in recent months. Jersey Jon told fans that they were filming new episodes in the Midwest shortly before Robbie’s update.

In July, Mike Wolfe posted another behind-the-scenes photo with Jersey Jon and the rest of the crew. “I know everyone says they have the best crew, but in this business how many can say they have worked side by side with most for over a decade,” he wrote in the post.

Mike continued, pointing out that many people on the crew have worked with him for nearly 16 years, and many of them for over 10 years. “Living and working side by side with them has been one of the greatest experiences of my life,” he said.

New episodes of American Pickers will start to roll out on October 15 on the History Channel.
