Whitney Leavitt has announced plans to leave #MomTok after the first season of the Hulu reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. This also leaves the question of whether or not Leavitt will continue on the show. A friend of Leavitt’s has also commented on the matter.

Leavitt Wants To ‘Wait & See’ Before Leaving The Show

In a statement with the New York Post, Leavitt revealed that she decided to leave even before seeing the show. As she explained, “I think that once the show comes out, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to have more of an opportunity to share why I made that decision, rather than it just be from the show.” Leavitt also confirmed that she currently feels “content” over her decision.

“#MomTok” is an online community that represents Mormon influencers of Utah which gained prominence on TikTok. The group also garnered more notoriety thanks to the Hulu series. For many, the series is a reflection of the prominence of Mormon culture in mainstream media. The series has also drawn comparisons to reality shows like Sister Wives and documentary series like Mormon No More.

While she left MomTok, it’s still up in the air whether or not Leavitt will also leave the Hulu series. Leavitt has said that she wants to wait until seeing the show to make that decision. “I think my best answer to that question is I want to wait to see it,” she explained. She added, “I want to wait to see what was really said, what was really done.”

As she continued, “It’s kind of hard to make that decision when I have no idea.” Leavitt also took note that she didn’t know about things showcased in the show. For example, she was unaware of other women in the group unfollowing her after she didn’t make it to a social event.

Mayci Neeley Also Talked About Feeling Like ‘The Middle Man’

Mayci Neeley, a friend of Leavitt, also revealed to the New York Post that she felt stressed by the series’ drama. Neeley explained, “It almost gave me a lot of anxiety because I could see both point of views.” As she continued, “I felt like I was stuck in the middle. It was hard because you’re hearing them not talk great about Whitney, and then Whitney is upset with them.”

“I felt like I’m this middle man and I don’t want to be that. I just want everyone to love each other,” as Neeley explained. She also noted that “it’s not always easy when you have eight women with eight different personalities coming together. It’s bound to happen where there’s drama and people clash.”
