‘The View’ Sunny Hostin Admits She Is Grieving, What Happened?
The View is back after its summer break. Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin have all returned to kick off the new season. However, some of the ladies are having a hard time adjusting to changes happening in their lives. Sunny opened up about being in the stages of grief. What happened? Keep reading to see what she revealed.
Sunny Hostin Opens Up About Grieving Her Daughter
Season 28 of The View has kicked off with an all-new studio and set. It is a politically-heavy season and all of the ladies on the talk show are adjusting to new routines. However, Sunny Hostin may be having a bit of a hard time.
The talk show panelist talked about having to drop her youngest child, Paloma Hostin, off at college before they returned for the new season. She admitted that she is having a difficult time not having her living there anymore.
On a recent episode of The View, she admitted that she has been struggling throughout much of the summer in anticipation of her daughter leaving for school. Sunny said that she still feels emotional now that her child is gone. She’s dealing with empty nest syndrome and looking for advice from fellow talk show stars.
“I got to drop off my daughter at college and become an empty nester. And I’m a mess; I’m in grief. I have Kelly Ripa giving me advice,” Sunny said. The Live host told Sunny that she would need to give the grieving a few weeks to settle in and then things would get better.
Although Sunny Hostin has had a successful career, she has always considered being a mom her most important job. She’s very attached to each of her kids, so she may have a harder time with them leaving home.
Changes On The View
That’s not the only thing that’s changed on The View this season. As mentioned above, the ladies are in a new studio with a new set. Fans of the show have called the new digs “stunning,” but there are some significant changes in the setup.
The entire set seems to be a bit smaller and there are fewer seats for the audience. It also looks like the audience is much closer to the stage than in the previous studio.
There has also been chatter online about viewers at home unable to tune in. This isn’t due to a change with Season 28 though. Disney and DirecTV are currently battling with contract renewal terms, so all Disney-owned channels are blacked out for DirecTV subscribers.
Thankfully, fans can watch The View in other ways. Full episodes are now posted online. You can also watch with subscriptions on Hulu or the ABC app.
Of course, The View can also be watched live every weekday at 11 a.m. EST on ABC.
