‘Bachelorette’ Viewers Slam ABC & Jesse Palmer

How Jenn’s Season Ended
Jenn Tran remained mum about how her season ended while it was airing. But she did tease that the conclusion of Bachelorette Season 21 was something that never happened before. It turns out she was right, but not in the way she meant.
After eight weeks, she had narrowed her choice for her future husband to Marcus Shoberg and Devin Strader. While Devin was open about his feelings for Jenn, Marcus held back and wasn’t sure if he was ready for marriage. After an emotional conversation, she sent Marcus home, which left just Devin.
But Jenn told Jesse Palmer that she didn’t want Devin to propose to her. Instead, she wanted to take the lead and propose to him. But before viewers could watch it, Jesse Palmer had some bad news to share:
Jenn and Devin had just recently ended their engagement. She revealed that her former fiance broke up with her over the phone after weeks of ghosting her.
The episode didn’t end there. Jesse Palmer asked Jenn if they should air the proposal to give her closure. She bluntly asked, “Do I have a choice?”
No. No, she didn’t. The footage aired as Jenn sobbed while sitting next to her ex-fiance.

Viewers of the show took to social media to absolutely drag the show for putting Jenn Tran through that. Check out some of the comments on the official Bachelorette Instagram:
- Sad to be a fan tonight. Felt like Jessie, Devin and Bachelor franchise really belittled women tonight. Very cringy how they talked to Jenn
- Why would you make her watch this proposal back. “Do I have a choice?” That is so insidious of you guys just for views.
- Yall making her watch this back right now is actually torture like do better please
- “Do I have a choice?”, those words show that the biggest abuser is ABC .
- The audacity to force her to watch her proposal next to Devin with a camera on her as she cries… classless and disturbing that you handled this woman’s heart with such little care
- This is cruel and unusual punishment. This is so unbelievably unfair to Jenn.
- This is abuse for Jen. Why are you making her watch the proposal. So unnecessary and cruel.
- The most cruel finale. Shame on abc and everyone who was there and did not stand up for Jen. Making her watch was abusive.
This isn’t the first or even second time the show has done something like this. Who can forget the time they filmed Arie Luyendyk Jr. breaking up with Becca Kufrin?

How tragic this season ended. TO have to sit next to him then watch the proposal only takes the alr3eady sharp knife out and hits her again. This is not what we want to see. It could have been handled in a much more empathic way. Like not show it at all. Devin is a #1 jerk and I dont want him in paradise. If he could do that to Jenn, what will he do with those girls
He made me sick the whole show. She knew he was a ass and chose him over everybody else. But she really wanted Marcus.
