Artem Chigvintsev Could Face Charges In Domestic Violence Case
Artem Chigvintsev could be facing charges following his domestic violence arrest. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office has turned the case over to the District Attorney. Artem Chigvintsev’s DV Case Handed Over To The D.A.
Pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev was arrested last Thursday. He was booked for corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant. Artem allegedly attacked his wife, Nikki Bella. She had noticeable injuries to her body when the police arrived, which led to his arrest.
Police reported to the couple’s home after Artem called for medical assistance. He called back to ask the paramedics not to come, but authorities responded to the call anyway.
“Initially came in as requesting medical,” the dispatcher said in the audio recording shared by TMZ, “but now he is stating he got into an argument with his wife and his wife threw shoes at R.P. [reporting party].”
Artem was arrested at the scene and released several hours later.
Carlos Villatoro, a spokesperson for the D.A., said that the case is currently under review with the District Attorney. There has not been any decision made about any formal charges against Artem Chigvintsev. The D.A. will comb through the case and a public announcement will be made once a decision is reached.
Witness statements, footage, and photos will all have to be reviewed prior to any formal charges being filed. The D.A. will also have to take a look at any other evidence the police may have uncovered during their investigation.
Nikki Bella Spotted Without Her Wedding Ring
Since Artem’s arrest, Nikki Bella has gone without her wedding ring. The star hosted the Netflix live event of the Chestnut/Kobayashi hot dog eating contest in Las Vegas over the weekend and she wasn’t sporting her ring then. She is reportedly looking for a divorce lawyer.
Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev met in 2017. The couple competed together on Dancing With The Stars. Their relationship didn’t become romantic until several years later after Nikki officially split from her ex, John Cena.
Artem and Nikki have been married for two years and share one son, four-year-old Matteo. At this time, Artem Chigvintsev is sleeping at a friend’s house while Nikki Bella is staying at the family home with their child.
Days before his arrest, the couple was celebrating their two-year wedding anniversary.
Neither party has addressed the issue publicly. A rep for Nikki Bella said that the star would appreciate some privacy surrounding the matter. “This is a private matter and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time,” they said.
Artem Chigvintsev will be arraigned on November 4.
