Everyone Missed The Signs Of Artem Chigvintsev’s Abusive Side
After news of professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev’s arrest broke this week, fans have started scrutinizing his past behavior. Absolutely no one wants to believe he’s capable of domestic violence, especially against his wife Nikki Garcia.
But in the aftermath of the arrest, many members of the public are taking a closer look at Artem’s past actions. Is it possible there were warning signs all along?
Artem Chigvintsev’s Poor Behavior Allegedly Isn’t A Secret
Former DWTS pro Cheryl Burke spoke out after Artem’s arrest and said this was not the man she knew. However, she acknowledged the situation needed to be addressed and taken seriously.
The 911 call revealed Nikki Garcia was throwing shoes at Artem. He called for emergency services but called them back and asked them not to come. Medical and fire services did not show up at their Napa home, but the police were required to follow up on the situation.
It’s not currently known what the police found when they arrived, but they found enough evidence to arrest Artem Chigvintsev for domestic violence.
A few insiders close to the couple revealed that they weren’t entirely shocked by the situation. Allegedly, Nikki and Artem had a turbulent relationship for years. The red flags seemed present, even though he appeared calm and genteel to the public.
Before Artem Chigvintsev competed on DWTS, he was a regular performer on Strictly Come Dancing. According to his former partner Fern Britton, he was incredibly rough with her during rehearsals.
“He would look at my feet and just kick me or shove me,” Britton told The Huffington Post UK back in 2015. At the time, Artem defended himself and the allegations were soon forgotten.
What Prompted The Professional Dancer’s Ire?
Dancing With The Stars reportedly did not invite Artem Chigvintsev for Season 33. Naturally, the Season 29 champion was incredibly disappointed by the news. Rumored budget cuts allegedly responsible for this year’s smaller cast size. Competition was fierce this year and not every pro made the cut.
It’s easy to see why Artem was in a foul mood. However, he’s responsible for managing his feelings in a healthy way. Nothing excuses domestic violence.
Artem has kept a low profile in the aftermath of his arrest. However, the paparazzi spotted Nikki Garcia in public without her wedding ring shortly after. Thankfully, she did not appear to be seriously physically injured.
