Richard Simmons’ The List Of Multiple Drugs In System When He Died
An official autopsy report has revealed that fitness guru Richard Simmons had a number of prescription drugs in his system when he died. The icon died on July 13 after taking a fall in his home. Continue reading to see the list of drugs Richard Simmons was taking at the time of death.
List Of Prescription Drugs Found In Richard’s System
According to the autopsy report, the fitness guru has diphenhydramine, trazodone, and zolpidem in his system. However, none of these drugs seem to have contributed to the cause of death.
Diphenhydramine is commonly used to treat allergies. Trazadone, on the other hand, is often used to treat depression, and zolpidem is used to address insomnia.
That said, the autopsy gave some insight into Richard Simmons’ final days. It suggested that there were more than just his prescription medications involved.
Richard Simmons apparently had a fall two days before he died. He declined medical treatment after becoming dizzy and falling down.
The report read, “Late in the evening on 07/11/2024, the decedent reportedly had an episode of dizziness after using the bathroom and collapsed on the floor. It is unknown if the decedent struck his head.”
It continued, “He was unable to get up and spent several hours laying on the floor until he was found by his caretaker. … He was alert and responsive at the time but had difficulty with mobility.”
During the autopsy, it was also found that the fitness guru had a “palpable fracture of the left femur.” It was not able to be determined if the injury to his femur happened at the time of his death or before.
Richard Simmons Wasn’t In Good Health At His Time Of Death
Ultimately, it was determined that complications from the fall and heart disease caused his death.
After he died, a heartfelt message was shared from the star’s official account. It read, “Richard Simmons preached exercise, diet, and most of all kindness. He positively impacted thousands and thousands of lives. I’m one of the hundreds and hundreds of TV people who basked in his energy and readily accepted those crazy hugs. Rest well.”
The day before he died, Richard took to social media to thank his fans for their beautiful birthday wishes. He turned 76 on July 12. He posted, “Thank you…I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life. I am sitting here writing emails. Have a most beautiful rest of your Friday. Love, Richard.”
In March of 2024, the fitness star opened up about the recent health challenges he was facing. Richard revealed that he was diagnosed with skin cancer, specifically Basel Cell Carcinoma. The vague post led fans to worry about him.
Throughout his career, Richard was open about the challenges he faced in life. He had trouble with mobility and, when it caused him to gain weight as a child, people bullied him. Eventually, he took that experience and put it into transforming his life and the lives of others.
