Hulu released a new documentary series, After Baywatch, which is a nostalgic treat for fans. The series looks at the extremely popular TV show and its stars. Many former stars showed up to discuss the series, its legacy, and how it affected their careers and lives. However, Pamela Anderson refused to take part in the series.

Here is what we know about the new Baywatch documentary and why Pamela Anderson chose not to contribute.

Pamela Anderson Refuses To Take Part In Baywatch Documentary

Most of the cast returned to talk about Baywatch, one of television’s most-watched shows. However, Pamela Anderson, one of the show’s true breakout stars, rejected all offers to return to participate in the interviews for the docuseries. Instead, the docuseries used footage from a “never-before-seen interview” with Anderson.

There is no clear reason why Anderson chose not to participate. One source said there is no “bad blood or drama between Pamela and the other cast members” (via TMZ). Instead, the source said she declined the offer from the Hulu series mainly because she was “in a different chapter of her life.”

Anderson has two movies coming out this year. She stars in The Last Showgirl, which is receiving some Oscar buzz. It premieres next weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival. Anderson stars alongside Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Brenda Song (The Suite Life), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Billie Lourd (American Horror Story).

Anderson stars in the lead role as a woman who is a seasoned showgirl of 30 years who must plan for her future when the show she stars in closes.

How To Watch After Baywatch

Pamela Anderson is the only original cast member not to appear in After Baywatch. While he was nowhere to be seen in the trailer, David Hasselhoff appeared in the documentary. He filmed footage in 2019.

This means some big names reunited for the docuseries to discuss their relationships and the show’s legacy. Nicole Eggert, who played Summer Quinn on the show, tracked down more than 35 cast members to interview for the series. Eggert received a stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer diagnosis in early December 2023.

“It was time for the covers to be pulled back and to really get to know everybody and let people shine for who they are,” Eggert said about the docuseries. She admitted too many hadn’t had that opportunity before.

Former cast members in the docuseries include Nicole Eggert, Carmen Electra, David Hasselhoff, Billy Warlock, Alexandra Paul, David Chokachi, Jeremy Jackson, Traci Bingham, and Erika Eleniak. After Baywatch premiered on Hulu on August 28.
