Jonathon Johnson Blindsided By ‘Bachelorette’ Elimination?
Bachelorette viewers were shocked when Jenn Tran sent Jonathon Johnson home after their Fantasy Suite date. But was he blindsided by his elimination? Plus, find out why some fans think he still holds a candle for Jenn Tran.
Jonathon Johnson Blindsided By Bachelorette Elimination?
Jonathon Johnson made a big impression on viewers during his Bachelorette introduction when he showed up to the mansion with his face covered in bandages. He wanted Jenn Tran to get to know him for what was inside, not his looks.
Despite having time away from the cameras to get to know each other, Jenn Tran sent Jonathon home after their overnight date. The rejected suitor was a guest on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast after his elimination. He opened up to Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt about his unexpected exit.
According to Jonathon, the elimination was more of a surprise to viewers than it was to him. He was initially reluctant to confess his feelings to Jenn Tran until his family convinced him otherwise during the trip home. However, by that time, it was too late.
“She’s confessing her love for Marcus [Shoberg] and Devin [Strader]’s saying that he’s in love with her and I’m sitting there in this middle ground with her, where everything’s great, it’s fun, we have no issues with each other, no drama. It’s easy, but that next step isn’t there.”
Does He Still Have A Thing For Jenn?
While Jonathon Johnson wasn’t blindsided, his behavior during the Men Tell All raised eyebrows. He easily ranked Jenn Tran’s Bachelorette dresses and the two seemingly flirted across the stage.

However, he made it clear during his podcast chat that he’s over Jenn Tran. “That’s the closure of being like it wasn’t you, it wasn’t her, it just wasn’t right,” he said of watching the show back and seeing her connection with the other final suitors.
Good thing he’s ready to move on because he was invited as a contestant for Season 10 of Bachelor In Paradise. His Bachelorette co-star, Hakeem Moulton, was also asked to join the spinoff, which will air in 2025.
His Pick For Final Rose Winner
Jenn Tran has just one rose left to give out. Does she have a stronger connection with Marcus Shoberg or Devin Strader? Jonathon Johnson wasn’t sure about where Jenn Tran’s heart lies. He said that, in his opinion, she has more feelings for Marcus than she did for him. But Devin has been a frontrunner since day one.
“And then there’s Devin. I feel like to an extent, she has this unspoken draw toward Devin that she’s always had.”
