‘DWTS’ Nikki Garcia Breaks Silence Amid Husband Artem’s Arrest
Dancing With The Stars pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev was arrested in California yesterday on domestic violence charges. Since the news broke, fans have been waiting to hear from his family about the situation. His wife Nikki Garcia just made a public statement.
Nikki Garcia Issues A Public Statement Over Her Husband’s Arrest
Nikki Garcia (previously known by her stage name Nikki Bella) and Artem Chigvintsev met on the set of Dancing With The Stars Season 25. They went on to fall in love and welcome a son together, Matteo. The couple then tied the knot in 2022.
The family seemed incredibly happy, which is why DWTS fans were so shocked to hear about Artem’s arrest. Now, Nikki has broken her silence on the matter.
“This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time,” a representative for Nikki Garcia shared with Us Weekly.
The publication shares that police apprehended Artem Chigvintsev on charges “under section 273.5(a) of the California Penal Code, pertaining to an individual who has injured a spouse, cohabitant or fellow parent.”
It was never publicly stated who Artem injured, but the arrest report led many fans to believe it might have been Nikki. She was also in Napa at the time of the incident, as indicated by her social media activity. However, that is purely speculation until authorities reveal more.
New information is still emerging, but a 911 call reveals that Artem claimed Nikki was throwing shoes at him.

Cheryl Burke Didn’t Think Her Friend Was Capable Of Violence
Since news of the arrest is so recent, many Dancing With The Stars cast members haven’t publicly said much about the situation. In a live stream with fans, Peta Murgatroyd stated she would not comment on the situation.
Meanwhile, former pro Cheryl Burke spoke up about the arrest on TikTok. She shared how she grew up with Artem and never thought he was capable of violent behavior.
“My heart goes out to everyone involved. This is really hard for me because he is my family, and I don’t know what to say here other than I hope everybody’s okay,” Cheryl stated. “Domestic violence and Artem don’t really … that’s why it’s so shocking.”
