‘The View’ Preview Teases Season 28 Premiere Date, Big Changes
A preview video for the upcoming season of The View was released on Wednesday. The clip showed off the new studio and each of the women talked about the “big move.” Here is what was revealed in the trailer.
The View Gets A New Look
The View Season 28 is kicking off on September 3 at 11 a.m. EST. Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro will all be returning to the talk show this season.
The teaser trailer promised more “Hot Topics” and a fresh new look for the show. Earlier this month, it was announced that The View moved studios. The lovely ladies left their previous location, where the show has been broadcast for the last 10 years.
“The View’s on the move into a new big season on ABC,” the promo video said. “And get this, moving into a fabulous new home and studio too.”
Whoopi Goldberg appears on camera in the clip and asks, “Y’all know we’re moving, right?” Then, one after the other, each of the co-hosts begins to appear with moving boxes.
Sunny Hostin says, “We’re moving downtown to the hottest new studio to match our hot topics.” Ana Navarro pops up next, carrying her pup Cha-Cha in a moving box.
Joy Behar, who is one of the show’s original panel members, states that she isn’t going to carry any boxes. “Let Alyssa do it,” she says. Alyssa Farah Griffin shows up next in the video. She is carrying two stacked boxes and jokes, “Sure! I’m used to heavy lifting; I’m a Republican on The View.”
Looking Back On 27 Years Of The View
Viewers have known about the move for a while now. The Season 27 finale showed a tearful goodbye to the studio, but each of the cast members seems to be excited about the big move now.
Now, The View will be taped in the new studio in downtown Manhattan. They’ve spared no expense when it comes to getting the studio ready for the first show either. The network has reportedly spent $10 million on preparing the new set.
An inside source said they didn’t bring anything over from the former studio. Everything is new, even the mugs!
On August 11, The View celebrated a huge milestone. It has been on the air for 27 years. The first episode aired on August 11, 1997. An Instagram post commemorated the day.
In the caption, a quote from the late Barbara Walters was shared. Barbara was the mastermind behind the talk show. “I’ve always wanted to do a show with women of different generations, backgrounds, and views,” she said. “This is that show. We call it ‘The View.’”
