Dancing With the Stars pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev shocked the world when he was arrested on Thursday on charges of domestic violence. He was arrested in Napa, California just two days following his second wedding anniversary with Nikki Garcia. Will Artem Chigvintsev Be Back For Season 33 Of DWTS?
Will Artem Chigvintsev be coming back for Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars? Fans have been curious about the answer since hearing of his domestic battery arrest in California on Thursday morning.
More details are emerging about the arrest including details that it was a felony corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant. According to reports, it can only be a felony charge if there are visible injuries on the victim.
TMZ also reported that a 911 call was made from their residence this morning requesting medical assistance. As paramedics and the fire department rushed to the home a second 911 call was made. This call canceled the request for help but it’s unclear who made either of the calls.
Once booked, Artem was held and then released on $25,000 bail later Thursday afternoon.
Nobody has confirmed if the victim is former WWE star Nikki Garcia or someone else. However, it has been reported that the alleged victim is cooperating fully with law enforcement while the investigation continues. According to the latest reports, police want to know if Artem has a history of any sort of aggressive behavior or abuse.
As far as the upcoming season of DWTS, Artem was not set to compete. US Weekly reported that after finishing in fourth place last season with Bachelorette Charity Lawson, he was not planning a return for Season 33. The new season will premiere next month.

Artem And Nikki’s Marriage
Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garcia met during her time on Dancing With the Stars in 2017. The two went Instagram official in early 2019. They had their son Matteo who is now four years old and tied the knot two years ago.
On their anniversary this week, both Artem and Nikki wrote sweet messages of love to one another on social media.
