‘MBFFL’ Did Glenn Thore Go Too Far With Comment To Whitney?
Whitney Way Thore’s friends and family haven’t been holding any punches in recent episodes of My Big Fat Fabulous Life. Even her dad, Glenn Thore, has piped up about her weight and what she’ll need to do if she really wants to see change. Glenn Thore Wouldn’t Approach Someone Whit’s Size
A number of MBFFL viewers seem to be triggered over a recent comment Glenn Thore made toward his daughter. Glenn, who is typically a beloved part of the show, is receiving backlash online.
He told Whitney Way Thore that if Babs (her mom) was Whitney’s size, he would’ve never looked twice at her. They wouldn’t have ever had a relationship and Whitney would’ve never been born.
While it seems like Glenn was probably just trying to relate to Whitney in some way, some fans think his comment was harsh and inappropriate coming from her dad.
One Reddit user stated that “Glenn’s comment would have gone over better if he had said that Babs wouldn’t have looked twice at him either had he been severely overweight.” They suggested that because his comment was about a woman’s weight, it was getting backlash.
Another person pointed out that there is an overall lack of context as to why Glenn Thore came out and said this.
“I just don’t see Glenn saying that totally unprovoked,” one fan wrote. “I guarantee that Whit asked him if he would have fallen for Babs if Babs had been 400 pounds whenever he first met her. And Glenn answered honestly.”
MBFFL Fans Weigh In On The Controversial Statement
One My Big Fat Fabulous Life fan pointed out that their father wouldn’t ever say anything like that to them, but Whitney and Glenn don’t have a conventional relationship. “It’s inappropriate,” the person commented. “But considering they kiss on the lips, I can’t relate to their relationship.”
Several other people pointed out that fans are only hearing Whitney’s side of things when it comes to this. As one Reddit user pointed out, she isn’t always the most reliable narrator.
In a separate Reddit post, one fan started a poll to gauge how people felt about what Glenn Thore had to say. They asked, “Was Glenn’s comment too far to Whitney about how he would never have looked twice at Babs if she was Whitney’s weight?” Out of 167 people in the poll, 90 said no.
At the end of the day, it is known that Whitney Way Thore needs to drop weight to improve her health and ensure she lives a long, healthy life. But Glenn Thore could’ve approached it differently.

You always see her eating on the show! She would definitely feel better and go farther in life if she would lose some weight! Her Dad has always been there for her! She needs to listen to him, he only wants the best for her!
