There are some memorable scenes in General Hospital that were filmed on location. You might remember some scenes that were shot on a tropical island or out in the woods.

Steve Burton and Maurice Benard were filming one such scene last week. However, it isn’t taking place anywhere exotic. Instead, they were “on location” outside the studio.

In the snapshot Steve shared on Instagram, both actors gave a serious look to the camera. A number of crew members were in the background of the shot.

The caption read, “On location. Outside our studio! Did a quick car scene. Good to be back working with this dude. @mauricebenard Sonny and Jason back at it.”

Lydia Look, who plays Selina on the soap, commented on the post and said how much she loved seeing the duo together. General Hospital fans agreed that it’s good to see Sonny and Jason together again.

Steve Burton‘s character Jason and Maurice Benard’s character Sonny have been side by side on GH for decades. Of course, this isn’t the first time they’ve shot scenes in a car.

Back in February, Steve spoke about one of his all-time favorite scenes, which took place in a limo. The scene wound up being six minutes long. “It looked like a movie,” the actor said.

Sonny’s Return To General Hospital

Maurice Benard recently took some time off from the soap opera to focus on his mental health. He opened up about what was going on in an episode of his “State Of Mind” podcast.

The GH actor said that while his son and wife were traveling abroad recently, he found himself feeling anxious. It made it impossible for him to leave the house. Maurice wound up taking two weeks off from his work on the show.

He said that the General Hospital executives were more than understanding and accommodated his needs. The GH star said that he was eager to return when he felt like he was well enough to do so.

On the show, Maurice’s character was going through a difficult time managing his bipolar disorder, something the actor deals with in real life. Many people think the storyline contributed to his mental health struggles recently.

Now, he’s back on set and filming with one of his closest friends, Steve Burton. As to what the pals were filming on location, General Hospital fans will just have to wait and see.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
