Rachel Lindsay Offers Advice To ‘Bachelor’ Grant Ellis
If anyone can offer Grant Ellis advice on navigating Bachelor Nation, it’s Rachel Lindsay. She was the franchise’s first Black Bachelorette for Season 13. What words of wisdom does she have for the next Bachelor, Grant Ellis?
Who Is Grant Ellis?
Bachelor Nation fans were shocked when ABC announced Grant Ellis as the next Bachelor earlier this month. He was a contestant on Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette, but viewers didn’t really get to know much about him. The announcement came immediately after he was eliminated on the episode that aired on Monday, August 12.
Fans were surprised partly because of his lack of screen time on Season 21, but also the timing was strange. The network usually waits until the end of The Bachelorette to announce the next lead. A head honcho at the network revealed why they chose to announce early.
So, who is Grant Ellis?
He is a former professional basketball player who began a new career as a day trader after an injury forced him off the court. Grant, 30, lives in Houston, Texas, but was raised in Newark, New Jersey.
According to his ABC bio, the Bachelor enjoys watching Lakers games, bowling and karaoke. He’s also an avid salsa dancer. His season of ABC dating show will air in early 2025. The network is now casting contestants for Grant’s season.
Grant Ellis is the franchise’s second Black Bachelor after Matt James, but Rachel’s advice isn’t about handling racism within from viewers.
Rachel Lindsay Shares Advice For Next Bachelor
Rachel married her final rose winner, Bryan Abasolo. They are currently battling out a messy divorce in the courts. Despite the dating show ultimately not working out for her, Rachel Lindsay still believes in the process.
She spoke to PEOPLE magazine recently and was asked if she had any advice for Grant Ellis. “I would say trust your gut,” she advised.
Rachel Lindsay added, “You have no outside influence, so you really have to trust yourself. Listen to that inner voice, and follow that. Don’t let other people do it for you.”
Is she implying she didn’t trust her gut when choosing Bryan Abasolo as her final rose winner?
Her Words Of Wisdom For Other Women
Rachel Lindsay now finds herself nearing 40 as a divorcee. She had advice for other women who are in the same situation.
“Often we compare ourselves to other people, and we think, ‘Oh, I’m not enough, or I need to be doing what that person’s doing.’ But the reality is you’re unique. You bring something different to the table every single time.”
