Hunter King has become a huge Hallmark star, but does she still go back to the Young And The Restless studio to hang out with the people she worked with for a decade?
Here is what she has to say about hanging with her former Y&R costars, as well as how that gig has helped her in her Hallmark roles.
Does Hunter King Keep In Touch With Former Y&R Stars?
Although it has been two years since Hallmark star Hunter King has been on The Young And The Restless, she is still asked questions about the show where she portrayed Summer Newman. King portrayed Summer for two decades.
She recently spoke with First For Women about Y&R, and was asked whether she returned to the studio, and if she kept in touch with any of her costars.
Firstly, Hunter shared who she most keeps in touch with.
I talk to Joshua Morrow (Nick), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), Melissa Ordway (Abby), and a lot of people over there.
Next, she revealed why she hadn’t come over to the studio.
Sometimes we get together, one-on-one, but I haven’t ever gone back to the studio. Imagine if I just walked in! I think it would be like ‘What are you doing here?’ But they’re still my good friends, and I think they’ll always be family.
She also revealed that working on this CBS soap helped her acting skills. “You know…I taught myself how to cry on command! I have it in me.”
Best of all, she still gets to use some of those skills by starring in Hallmark movies. The Hidden Gems star shared “I get to have maybe one or two scenes like that in a Hallmark.”
However, her upcoming Hallmark movie sounds like the tears will be limited, as it is a Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce inspired romcom.
Young And The Restless Alum Starring In Christmas Movie
Hunter King’s most recent Hallmark role is Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. The Young And The Restless alum stars alongside Tyler Hynes and Ed Begley Jr. in this highly publicized Countdown To Christmas movie. This is the first time that the NFL has worked with the feel-good network. Moreover, both Hallmark and the Chiefs share the same hometown, Kansas City.
This holiday movie also has some very special guest stars including Mama Kelce, Jenna Bush Hager, and Wes Brown.
In this movie, she portrays a Kansas City Chiefs superfan. Ed Begley Jr. portrays her grandfather. Their family is one of three finalists for Chiefs superfans. Tyler’s character works for the Chiefs in fan support and he needs to help pick the winner. Sparks fly, but when Grandpa’s lucky hat is lost, she needs to throw a Hail Mary! to get the guy and win the contest. Will Christmas magic save the day?
