‘Bachelorette’ Viewers Rage Over Unexpected Disruption
New episodes of The Bachelorette air on Mondays. Enraged viewers took to social media to vent after an unexpected interruption. Keep reading to find out what happened.
Jenn Tran’s Season Ends Soon
Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette kicked off on Monday, July 8, with 25 suitors, each hoping they might be her future husband. After weeks of adventurous dates and dramatic rose ceremonies, there are only four suitors remaining. Season 21 bad boy Sam McKinney was finally eliminated in last week’s episode.
Jenn visited each of the hometowns of her final four men on the Monday, August 19 episode. But some viewers didn’t get to watch it during its regular time slot. Why not?
Schedule Shake Up Disrupts Important Episode
Reality TV fans got an unwelcome dose of reality on Monday when the Democratic National Convention interrupted the primetime television schedule for some time zones.
Eastern and Central Time Zone viewers were lucky to watch the entire Hometown Dates episode without interruption. However, viewers in the Mountain and Pacific Time Zones weren’t so lucky.
Those in the Mountain time zones were able to watch one hour of the program, which featured two of the four dates. But the DNC took over the airwaves for the next hour with speeches. Viewers were eventually able to watch the last two dates and one suitor get eliminated.

Because of the time difference, The Bachelorette was delayed in the Pacific Time Zone. Frustrated fans begged the official Bachelorette Instagram to get the network to cut back to the reality show. One fan invoked Sam McKinney’s Season 21 catchphrase in a comment. “Let’s keep the main thing the main thing and turn off the DNC!”
“Sam M is behind this I just know it,” another joked.
The DNC continues through the rest of the week before concluding on Thursday, August 22nd. It’s unclear how it will affect TV viewers in the coming days.
Another Schedule Checkup Coming
There are only a few episodes of Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette left. But NFL season is starting up soon and will takeover Mondays of Monday Night Football. The 2024-25 NFL season kicks off on Thursday, September 5, with a Monday Night game likely to follow on the 9th.
So, what will happen to Bachelorette episodes? The network will double up and air episodes on Monday and Tuesday next week.
