Golden Bachelorette Will Feature Sexy Strip Show
Entertainment Tonight got a rare interview with Joan Vassos ahead of the media blitz for the upcoming season of The Golden Bachelorette. The interview coincided with a group date with some of her suitors.
The interview took place in July, just a few weeks into filming for the spinoff. ET interviewed Joan and the 12 contestants on the group date at the Avalon Hollywood nightclub.
If you thought ABC would skip the strip tease date on the season with the senior citizens, you would be wrong. The network enlisted a Chippendale dancer named RK to train the older men on how to perform a strip tease.
According to the outlet, there were a lot of unexpected noises coming from the suitors during the training sessions.
“Ohhh,” groans one man as he rotates his hips in a circle. “Ooof,” another grunts as he attempts to limber up his hamstring. “Oh, man.” – Entertainment Tonight quote.
ABC released the names and photos of the 24 men vying for Joan Vassos’ Final Golden Rose. However, ET didn’t name which of the 12 contestants were involved in the group date to prevent spoiling it for viewers.
Joan Vassos Says It’s For A Good Cause
Joan Vassos admitted to ET that she wouldn’t be comfortable getting on the stage to bare it all. However, she pointed out that it is for a good cause.
The strip tease date is part of the “Bare It All for Cancer” revue to raise funds for the Stand Up 2 Cancer organization. It’s a cause that is close to Joan’s heart. She lost her husband of 32 years to pancreatic cancer in 2021.
“The fact that it’s for a charity makes it all good for me. My husband died of pancreatic cancer, and many of the guys lost loved ones to cancer. I hope that they have fun with it because they’re doing something really good, not just kind of salacious.”
Since there are 12 participants in the group date, it will likely air within the first few episodes. The Golden Bachelorette premieres on Wednesday, September 18, at 8 PM Eastern on ABC.
