‘RHOA’ Kim Zolciak Says She’s Suffering From PTSD
Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak returned to reality television recently. She appeared on the MTV series Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets. While reality TV fans were interested to see her return to the small screen, RHOA viewers shouldn’t expect to see Kim clamoring to get her peach back anytime soon. The Bravo star said she suffers from “PTSD” from her experience on the Real Housewives show.
Kim Zolciak Says She Has PTSD From Real Housewives
On Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets, Kim Zolciak opened up about her experience on RHOA. She told her co-star Josie Canseco that she turned down Bravo’s offer to return to Real Housewives.
“I walked away from millions of dollars,” she said. Kim talked about the toxic environment she witnessed while The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was being filmed. She continued, “I was eight months pregnant with my son… glasses being thrown. It was f***ing terrible.”
She also mentioned that “karma comes full circle.” Kim told her Surreal Life co-star that she’s “watched it happen to people” and feels that many of her previous co-stars will see karma unfold in their own lives.
The RHOA alum then revealed that she has severe “PTSD” from her experience. “There’s not enough money to ever go through what I went through, ever,” she concluded.
Kim Zolciak was one of the OG cast members on Real Housewives of Atlanta. The show first hit Bravo in 2008 and Kim was a full-time cast member for the first five seasons.
Ultimately, Bravo gave Kim and her family their own spinoff called Don’t Be Tardy. Her show lasted eight seasons and ended in 2020. It followed Kim Zolciak’s daily life as well as her husband, Kroy Biermann, and their kids.
Will Kim Return To RHOA In The Future?
She made an unexpected return to Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2016 for Season 9. Then she returned the following season in a “friend of” role. However, she had to walk away from the show as things got increasingly tense between her and the other women on the show.
While Kim Zolciak said she had “PTSD” from her experience on Real Housewives, she has started to reconsider more recently. Phaedra Parks and Porsha Williams are returning to RHOA in Season 16. Learning this has Kim rethinking her choice to stay away from the Bravo show.
“I’ve been saying I would never return but, as I’m talking right now, I might think about it because these are two very funny and light-hearted fun people,” she told E! News in July. “Porsha and Phaedra might do it for me. We’ll see.”
