‘Bachelorette’ Front-Runner Under Fire Amid Troubling Allegations
Jenn Tran has narrowed her Bachelorette contestants from twenty-five to just four. But one of the men is under fire amid troubling allegations. Keep reading for all the details.
Jenn Tran Sends Sam McKinney Home
Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette has been slammed by viewers for casting the worst group of men as contestants in a long time. Sam McKinney seemed like a great guy on the first night, even getting the First Impression Rose from Jenn.
But as the season continued, viewers spotted red flag after red flag. Sam M. took to social media a few weeks ago to claim the show edited it to make him look bad.
The final straw came during the latest episode when Sam M. told Jenn Tran that she wasn’t his usual type and implied he joined the show thinking he would be pursuing Maria Georgas and Daisy Kent. Sam McKinney was sent home after the group date.
But according to multiple social media users, Sam McKinney isn’t the only problematic contestant on Season 21.
Bachelorette Front-Runner Under Fire Amid Troubling Allegations
TV Shows Ace previously reported on contestant Jeremy Simon’s questionable past social media activity. But he isn’t the only Bachelorette contest to have his dirty laundry aired on social media.
There is an entire Reddit thread dedicated to multiple allegations against front-runner Marcus Shoberg.
The shocking accusations include several allegations of sexual assault and attempted rape. Charges were never filed in any of the cases.
Marcus opened up in his introduction interview about his time with the Army Rangers. But there is the disturbing allegation circulating on social media that during his time abroad, the Bachelorette contestant purposely shot and killed stray dogs.

Bachelor Nation Fans React To Allegations
Many Bachelorette viewers were shocked by the allegations made against Marcus. He opened up on a recent episode about his tumultuous childhood, which many viewers related to. But some fans became former fans after reading the allegations on Reddit. Check out some of the comments:
- With this coming out, I bet he’s gonna be reading off a teleprompter with lines pre-approved by production at AFR for sure. They’ll wave his contract in front of him to get him to say what they want. Then they’ll never mention him again, like how Eazy from Tayshia’s season and Joe Coleman from Michelle’s season never returned.
- Why can’t the show make them give 3 ex girlfriends as references so they can background check these guys
- Shame on production. Let’s hope Jenn doesn’t do anything in fantasy Suites with him except talk & kiss since the show thinks it’s ok to endanger their Bachelorettes this way.
- Shame on the producers – these are rape and abuse allegations from multiple women over multiple years and producers let it slide and get these horrendous monsters on tv. Won’t be watching this show ever now – f**k them.
- At this rate, it seems like we’re veering into Bill Cosby territory.
- Wow it’s not a coincidence that so many women have these stories/experiences with him – it’s terrifying how good men are at putting on appearances.
Marcus Shoberg has yet to address the allegations. While the allegations seem credible, it’s important to remember that he hasn’t been charged with anything.
