‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Blast Show For Removing Major Element
Shows like Jeopardy! are built on tradition. However, fans recently called out the popular game show for doing away with a practice that has been part of the program for some time. So, what happened, and what did viewers have to say about it?
Jeopardy! Recently Wrapped Season 40
Jeopardy! recently wrapped its 40th season, a major achievement for the long-running game show that puts knowledge to the test. Game show concepts come and go, with many not lasting. However, Jeopardy! is one of those few shows that have proven popular with audiences for decades.
As a bonus for watching the game show, not only do viewers get the chance to see new players and returning champions compete for a lot of money, but, viewers themselves get to add to their knowledge base with each clue reveal. It’s certainly a way to make learning fun, and that is another aspect that keeps Jeopardy! fans tuning in.
Popular Game Show Quietly Removed Major Feature?
Another thing that comes to mind when you think of classic game shows like Jeopardy! is consistency. No matter what may be going on in the lives of viewers, they can always count on shows like Jeopardy! to be a constant in their lives.
However, based on something a lot of fans noticed recently, the popular game show quietly removed a feature from the program that has been part of the show for a long time.
It used to be that viewers would get a preview of upcoming contestants during the end credits of an episode. However, based on what fans are saying, it doesn’t look like this is a feature any longer, and watchers had plenty to say on the matter.
Jeopardy! Fans Blast Show For Removing Fun Feature
One eagle-eyed Jeopardy! fan recently pointed this change out to the community of viewers. If you were not looking for it, it could easily be something you miss. However, this recent viewer was clearly on it, and picked up on this change to the program.
- The Jeopardy! fan said: “Why are next-day contestants not announced anymore after the game? I noticed last night that they stopped announcing the players for the next episode during the closing credits.”
- To this observation, another fan said: “No one knows why.”
- A third person chimed in, saying: “Maybe due to the Ben Chan absence incident from April 2023 where he was unable to return due to illness?”
- A fourth even joked about the situation at hand, saying: “More time for those sweet commercials.”
