Jason Kelce Terrified Of New Career, Why?
Jason Kelce is making the transition to a new chapter in life following a hall-of-fame NFL career. However, the celeb was recently candid about being afraid of what’s to come in broadcasting. So, what did he have to say about it all?
Jason Kelce Had A Memorable NFL Career
Without question, Jason Kelce had an NFL career that is the envy of many. His brother, Travis Kelce, has been in the headlines a lot more of late, particularly since dating Taylor Swift. However, the body of work that Jason put together during his time on the gridiron is nothing to scoff at.
Jason Kelce is a Super Bowl champion, a seven-time selection to the Pro Bowl, and a six-time first-team All-Pro selection. He is also one of the greatest centers in NFL history. On top of all of the fame and accolades, he also has an impressive career earnings total of more than $80M over the course of his eleven-year career.
Kelce Completely Terrified Of New Gig
Of course, as any NFL player or fan will tell you, no matter how great you are, and no matter how dedicated you are to the game, there comes a point where everyone must hang it up and ride off into the sunset. In Jason Kelce’s case, he has had to navigate life after football ever since he formally retired.
Because of how popular Jason Kelce and his brother Travis are, it’s good business for network execs to want to keep them close. This is exactly what happened, as Jason Kelce has a broadcasting career with ESPN as part of his next chapter after retiring from football.
Former Philadelphia Eagles Center Opens Up About What Scares Him The Most
On paper, you would think that being on the field in the NFL would be more terrifying than sitting comfortably on an ESPN set and offering your thoughts. However, for Jason Kelce, it seems he would much rather tackle men on the field than tackle this new gig.
Speaking of what scares him the most about this new career move, Jason Kelce said: “I guess I’m fearful that I’m not going to be prepared. Because I feel like there’s a lot more autonomy.”
The 36-year-old went on to add: “Once you’re removed from it, you’ve got to go out of your way to really watch things and really iron in on what’s happening to do a reputable job.”
Jason Kelce didn’t stop there, adding: “I want to go up there and do a good job, because I think that there’s a service to the guys who are still in it and what’s happening, and I guess that’s my worst fear is not doing that well.”
“But you still have to give your opinion, so doing that in a responsible way is what I really, really want to strive to do, that’s both accurate and correct.”
