The new Bachelor is Grant Ellis. He was announced as the new lead after being eliminated on Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette. He is 30 years old and lives in Houston. Being a little older he’s ready to find a wife.

Grant works as a day trader in Houston and is very passionate about his job. Prior to that, he was a basketball player. He tried to continue his basketball overseas but ended up injured and was forced to quit and reevaluate his career.

In his Bachelorette intro package he said, “But when life knocks you down you have to be able to pivot. So I ended up getting into the finance field, and it’s been off to the races from there. The only thing I’m missing right know is my person.”

His Father Was An Addict

During his one-on-one date with Jenn Tran, Grant Ellis shared that he grew up with his dad being an addict. He didn’t know that information until later in life though. Before joining the show his dad was fired from his job and Grant decided to play tough love with him. He told him he didn’t care.

The following day his dad called him to say he was checking into rehab. Grant said that he was proud of him. Now, his dad is two years sober.
