When Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird filed for divorce from Josh Efird on August 1st, 2024, fans were shocked. They appeared relatively happy after almost a decade together and six years of marriage. Plus, they have four children, Ella, Bentley, Stella, and Sylus. Yet, Pumpkin maintained they mutually chose to split and it looked like they had both moved on. She was allegedly dating a close friend and relative of Josh’s, Darrin Kitchens. Josh was also supposedly seeing a pregnant woman named Keely who had been friends with Darrin’s ex-wife, Ariel. Finally, with all of the closeness, some claimed Pumpkin and Josh were swingers.
Pumpkin and Darrin just had their first public outing which they showed off on social media, attending a Zach Bryan concert. At the same time, rumors swirled that Pumpkin’s infidelity ended her marriage and now, there may be some truth to that. A Reddit thread was started and in it, the whole story of Josh, Pumpkin, and their significant others was broken down.
Fans wondered if Josh was the father of Keely’s baby but Mama June spoke out. She said they had been dating for a few months but he was not the father. Then, Darrin Kitchens name circulated as the father despite Keely’s closeness with his ex-wife, Ariel. Ultimately, Josh Efird and Keely were just very good friends and Darrin is the father, without a doubt. Yes, Darrin and Josh are related but family means very little when Pumpkin is involved. Finally, Ariel spilled some tea about Darrin being a deadbeat dad and now it seems he is a shady partner the way he claims he is polyamorous.

Additionally, Darrin and Josh Efird’s grandmother passed on April 27th. It was after the funeral that Darrin and Pumpkin hooked up. Now, Pumpkin did say that she and Josh had been split up for a few months now so that could have been the final straw.
