Adam J. Harrington Won Over Fans After Shocking Recast
A man from Sonny’s past showed up in Port Charles out of the blue. Jagger Cates returned to town to bring his enemy down. Now known as “John,” the character was played by a recast completely opposite of what fans would expect.
Antonio Sabato Jr. played Jagger throughout the 90s and was last seen on the show in 1995. He made an appearance on the prime-time spinoff Night Shift in 2008. These days, he’s rebranding himself as a boxer and will face off with a Real Housewives husband later this year.
GH fans were initially skeptical of Adam J. Harrington in the role. However, he won them over with his charisma and on-screen presence. He has chemistry with basically anyone he shares the screen with. But is his time on the ABC soap coming to an end?
Rumors Swirl That Jagger Cates Is On His Way Out At GH
General Hospital fans are beside themselves as rumors swirl online that John “Jagger” Cates is leaving Port Charles. Twitter user @vicksvapor77 tweeted that Adam J. Harrington has been let go from the soap. Where did the rumor come from?
According to reports, Harrington signed a multi-year deal with the ABC sudser. However, they recently updated the cast bios on their website. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Adam J. Harrington wasn’t included. Was it an oversight or a hint that he is leaving the soap?

The actor, who is usually very active on Twitter, hasn’t addressed the rumors. But many fans are convinced the rumors are true.

Rumor has it than Ava is planning to frame John Cates as the person behind Sonny’s bipolar medication switch. Sonny finally found out about his pills being tampered with when his daughter, Donna, mistakenly took the placebo pills. Test results revealed the pills weren’t lithium like they should have been to treat the bipolar disorder.
Ava didn’t tamper with the pills but she knew about it for months without saying anything.
