Theresa Goes To Jail
Theresa Donovan got her long-awaited comeuppance on Days Of Our Lives this week. She was carted off the Statesville after confessing to a slew of crimes. Her days were numbered after her wedding to Alex was crashed by Xander’s estranged mother. She revealed that she forged the papers saying Alex was Victor’s son when the true heir was Xander. Oh, and Theresa knew about it the entire time.
She also confessed to stealing baby Victoria and conspiring with Konstantin to steal Victor’s money. Needless to say, she’ll be in jail a long time.

Days Of Our Lives recast Emily O’Brien in the role of Theresa in 2023. The daughter of Kimberly Brady and Shane Donovan was previously played by former Hallmark star Jen Lilley. But at the time the recast was announced, O’Brien was already on the Peacock soap playing Gwen Rizczech, the long-lost daughter of Jack Deveraux.
In a truly soapy moment, brunette Gwen boarded a plane in Salem and blonde Theresa got off a separate plane. The show switched Emily O’Brien’s roles in an instant with a blonde wig.
Casting news is hard to keep from leaking these days. So, it was a total surprise to fans when Theresa was taken to prison and the actress gave her exit interview.
She told Soap Opera Digest that she was grateful to have the chance to play not one, but two characters on the long-running soap opera.
“I wasn’t supposed to be on the show for as long as I was. I never thought that daytime would be something that was accessible to me again. And I not only got to play one amazing role, but I played two amazing roles.”
O’Brien previously played Jana on The Young & The Restless from 2006 until 2011.
What’s Next For The Actress
She told the outlet that she still keeps in touch with some of her Days Of Our Lives co-stars. Would she be open to returning as either Gwen or Theresa?
